The club have acknowledged that things haven't been good enough, and I'm trying to be patient and supportive whilst they try to rebuild, but I don't know how much more of this I can stomach. Aside from Ese'ese and the youngsters there isn't a single player in that team I'd be sad to see go. In fact there are a few that I'd pay good money to never see in a Hull shirt again.

Well done London, fully deserved win.

This Hull team will go down as one of the very worst teams in SL history.

Fortunately for you and your fellow fans your on field performances don't matter this year and this won't happen but yes i understand what you meant.

This post makes it sound like London and Hull played equally poor. I have no idea how you would come to that conclusion.

I watched the whole game, apart from around fifteen mins in the first half when I dozed off

The "Dark Ages" is a term referring to life at the RFL under the new regime. It's characterized by a decline in openness, professionalism, transparency and  achievements,

Two different points altogether bob, if it is just the ref without any other comments then I would have that, but "the buck is being passed" these days, and unlike the NRL we can't produce enough evidence if the try is good or otherwise when it is referred up stairs.

So best to have the refs original decision to fall back to surely.

I think I’ve spotted the issue. Hull FC have been practicing letting people through the defensive line as a warm up 😬😳😳

Just came here to post the same thing! The absolute state of it. Where are the coaches? Why film it? Why think it was a good idea to share it?!

Can’t believe they posted that on their own socials 😳

Unfortunately, that's not THE issue. It's just AN issue. One of many.

I mean, in this video, there's at least two. One being the effortless warm up, the other being someone at the club thinking this is decent prep and feeling it's good enough to share online!

Indeed. Much as I find this all quite amusing, it’s genuinely baffling how the club has got to this spot, given the heritage of the club and the size and engagement of the fanbase. I know Pearson isn’t the super-wealthy benefactor you’d ideally have, but he’s put enough money in to get a solid “compete for the playoffs” squad. Not this shambles.

Huddersfield and Salford I’d understand, those are husks really, that punch about their weight. But Hull FC should be more like Wigan and Saints.

This did make me laugh earlier though…

Just watched the highlights - first of all fair play to London, they haven't capitulated this season in general despite the fact that pretty much everyone is expecting them to get beat most weeks, hopefully they'll be enjoying that win.

I don't think I can really add anything to comments on Hull's situation other than one positive - one thing I did notice was that for one of London's tries, Houghton appears to punch the air in frustration as London score. For all the problems that Hull have at the moment, at least individuals seem to care - whatever the reasons for the recent decline, if the desire's there at the club (which in fairness it seems to be given the changes being made) they may well turn it around. It might take a lot more change, but at least on an individual level people don't seem to have accepted that this is just how it is. Having said that, I don't half feel sorry for FC fans at the moment.

I have mixed feelings on this, yes the team is completely letting them down, but it doesn't really matter even if they finish bottom they are falling on a feather bed, on the other hand even if London win some more they are going into the abyss of what will be perpetual life in the second tier once this IMG system kicks in properly.

I mean sure.. I found it entertaining as a London fan. Lots of other people mentioned that London played a good game. It wasn't exactly 1 man up rugby, London passed the ball well and offloaded well.

You do you.

I feel like Hull are in a tough situation with Houghton.

He is a player that has been at the club for, I believe the comms team said 18 years.. He is a fan favourite, a club legend.. etc. And he is a good player - But he has been there throughout all of this, as what I would call a club captain (I am not sure if he is "offically" captain). I honestly think Hull will be better when he retires and they are able to start fresh.

Hull have gone through numerous coaches over the last however many years, but Houghton has always been there, I don't think he is the one creating a "bad culture" necessarily, but he doesn't seem to have ever been the one to be able to motivate his teammates, whether that be in game or in training it seems.

Hooker is such an important position in todays game, and as he has got older his threat has been less and less, I want to say any other "big" club would have brought in a new hooker by now, but Wigan stuck with Powell for years.

The London match made the BBC 10 o'clock news 🙂

It was on their early evening programme too. They never even mention SL scores let alone show highlights. I wonder why they decided this needed some coverage?

Are you saying if it had been say Castleford or Salford or Huddersfield or any other smaller M62 side it would not have got the attention ?

Any Hull fans on here make the trip, what was the reaction.

RoyBoy and my pal Coops went, I'll be phoning them later for their reaction.

First off, many congrats to London. We could really use a SL team in the smoke, as the remarkable decision to highlight the result on the national news (was it?) indicates.

I'm assuming it was Simon Grix whose decision it was to have Morgan Smith on the bench for so much of the game instead of an inexperienced young kid and a very rusty Jake Trueman. That started the downfall before the kick off.

And London demonstrated how easy it is to beat Hull FC. All you need to do is spread the ball wide at every opportunity. Whenever this happens it looks like we are playing with three or four players short.

And the ill discipline is still there, hitting a player late invariably leads to a ten minute sit down and while Jordan Lane was in the bin, London scored twice.

I await with interest as to the result of the "on report" incident. Rumours spreading like wildfire about what was said, ridiculous really, very few will know.

And lastly, my heart went out to young Jack Charles. Apparently he was interviewed recently and said he is sick with nerves before each game and reports suggested he was in tears at the end of yesterday's match with some fans booing the team, as is their perogative.

I just hope it makes him a tougher cookie and he realises it won't have been directed at him personally, he's a great talent and needs to stick at it.

As a so called professional club, we're in a heap of trouble at the moment and I can't see a way out anytime soon.

Other than the first 15 minutes which were shambolic by both teams I thought it was a greatly entertaining game. London play some lovely off the cuff stuff, no 1 man in, percentage, gameplan garbage. Watching Maloudi alone is worth the money as we have no idea what hes going to do next, and neither does he.

Probably not, but if London win next week, that probably won't make the national news though. Now if London finish above Hull at the end of the season, but get demoted and Hull survive that might make the national news

For the wrong reasons sadly.

London play some good rugby, they have all season, its just they can't tackle for toffee and when you get two evenly matched teams like yesterday it makes for a pretty good game. The funny thing is if we had P & R London would be better than they are at the moment but how much better if any would Hull be? I reckon they would be scrambling round for panic signings just trying to survive. Instead of that they are scrambling round for panic signings knowing full well they are in SL next season.
