Interesting what they said about Rhys Lovegrove. My understanding was that he refused to put his name to Anti IMG statements the owners wanted him to put out. If they had publicised that as being the reason for his dismissal they would have been even less popular.

What was it that Rochdale chairman Andy Mazey publicly called Keighley’s owner last week ? Oh aye, “a condescending little pr!ck”. Sounds about right.

From a man who moaned about people staying at home on furlough, it's a six and two threes.

What a horrendous statement. The owners have an awfully thin skin if they feel they have to address criticism on social media with a statement like that. It also reflects really poorly on the running of the club, which obviously wasn't the intention.

So basically on the day Keighley are overlooked by the NRL for a Las Vegas game, the owners lose the plot. There's a paper pamphlet on its way to NRL HQ on the benefits Keighley would've brought to Vegas.

How thin skinned can you be. The owners do some good stuff at Keighley.  But my god they let themselves down with this kind of stuff. I don't even know where to start! You never air your dirty laundry, no matter how in the right you feel you may be. As am owner, you have to take it on the chin sometimes and let some of the media get their likes on social media. If all they want is glory and everyone telling them what a good job they're doing, they need to find something else to do.

Imagine being one of the named players in the statement. You'd cringe with embarrassment. Also the fact they were so angry a player wasn't brought on in the first half that they thought should be,  that would ring alarm bells to any potential coach. Play they players they want, otherwise you're gone.

One of the worst statements I've ever read (and we had Andrew Chalmers doing one every week!)

I can almost guarantee that Henderson to Keighley won’t happen for 3 reasons,”;

1 - the bloke can’t coach

2 - the owners blame him for going wildly over budget

3 - he wouldn’t allow himself to be subservient to his former player

i also hope to god they were sniffing around the Hurricanes set up, i genuinely don’t rate them either.

It won’t happen but not for the reasons you mention.

Other championship coaches would disagree with your first point as they nominated him for coach of the year last year. He won that accolade when at London. Good going for someone who can’t coach.

Your second point is incorrect too. From someone who worked there at the time and contrary to popular belief he was actually UNDER budget having saved some budget for mid-season signings. Then IMG messed up their long term plan to eventually buy their way to superleague so they pulled money back and needed rid of players. The fact that Henderson had moved on at this point made him a convenient scapegoat. Truth is if they had stuck with Rhys and the team they both put together - they would still be in the Championship now and we all know it.

Unbelievably bad management. Firstly the directors clearly have their own agenda. The video put out last week was cringeworthy. I felt for the players doing that!
However, for a DoR to he signing players without the agreement of the coach is bizarre. Maybe JW has his own agenda too?
sounds like a real mess.

As a long time Keighley fan.

Who has seen the club go from one crisis to another.

This is the worst so far. The owners of the club have completely lost the plot.

Well someone hasnt read the statement of the dear leaders have they

"You either back this club 100% like we do, or you can walk away"

😛

I didn't know he won accolades whilst at London but knowing a few players personally that played under him then the "can't coach" comment might be a bit closer to the truth, he's also jumped out of the hot seat this season with York which does show something.

On the second point I only say this after being told directly by the owners this year whilst having a few drinks, I mean I could be wrong but i'm literally only repeating the words from the most direct source.

Henderson and Rhys didn't agree on a style of Rugby, it wasn't ever going to last but I do agree if we'd have stuck with him / them for the season then we wouldn't be in League 1.

What happens now? I've no idea, it's a huge worry, personally I am concerned about these "statements" and the advice the owners are taking but as a standard fan there's very little i can do.

Of course the owners are gonna tell you that, that’s what they do with a scapegoat. Much easier to say that than to explain than the truth. As you can see from the statements released yesterday - it’s always someone else to blame. Bit of a pattern forming.

Personally I really like the club and all they are doing but feel this has really been misjudged unfortunately, which is a shame.

Are there double standards here by lots saying that the statement is awful? When a coach loses their job when the team seem to be doing well everyone wants to know the real reason, well this time we know it and everyone is outraged. The owners have only done what people wanted.

I had to check that, yeah Keighley played 12, won 11, drawn 1, lost 1, must have been playing terrible to get that record?

You from the Diane Abbott school of counting Harry ?
