McIlorum is a big loss for Catalans, I'm not convinced Joel Tomkins is though! If Catalans start like they did against Leeds and can keep their discipline, then they have got a massive chance here.

Saints haven't played for 3 weeks and will be undercooked. Walmsley back is a massive help. For Saints, we need to dominate territory. I do not want to think about what will happen if a determined Israel Folau comes up against Jack Welsby in the centre.

Play to our best, Saints will win. If we don't, Catalans will.

Firsky, on what basis do you think this Sts team is one of the best ever?  Last year they were streets ahead but this year they haven't even finished top of the table, got knocked out of the cup and some of the displays cited as evidence of their greatness have been against reserve teams or terrible teams (like Leeds when Grace got a couple - awful defence).

I'm not saying they're terrible but great? That's a really low bar you're setting there.

You can be a great Saints team without being as good as Wigan. They have different standards of excellence. 🙂

I am not primarily a St Helens fan but I think they are one of the best ever too. I think it's because they have great players in every position and play entertaining rugby.

I think particularly Coote, Grace, Walmsley, Farges, are world class. They also have a lot of good youngsters developing.

The game against Warrington in the cup was the best game of the year I think where both played at the top of their game. Nilling Leeds at home was a great achievement, how often does this happen?

Youve missed off the worlds best winger and winner of the golden boot.

Lomax is always under rated as well.

Only weak position is centre once percivil got injured, i wouldnt class him as worldclass though

Still not over it then.

Davo I was over it at half time there was no way back. Don't mind losing to anyone so long as they play fair. It wasn't just Mcilorum doing the headshots Maloney did about 4. Kasiano on Oledski was a bit dubious. Just hope both semi finals are about rugby and nothing controversial by the officials.

I thought the one on Oledski was reckless.

They had no concern for the welfare of the Leeds players. The one where the Leeds player was pulled up when injured was appalling. All players ought to know doing this can cause spinal damage.

Friday I am dreading what their gameplan is for the smaller St Helens players, especially Farges.

Hopefully the referee and video ref will protect the players better.
