Not sure Leuluai's farewell tour has added a huge amount either.

I don't think they had much choice, there, with Cust out

As well as Leeds have played tonight, this result entirely underline why I think the playoffs are a very poor way to crown the champions

If Saints don't get crowned champions, it makes an absolute mockery of the regular season

The regular season qualifies you for the business end.

If you can't win under pressure in the play-offs then you don't deserve to be champion.

I think Harry Smith needs his hair ruffling after missing that conversion.

Which to me shows how poor the playoff system is for crowning a champion

No. Everyone knows how the system works and it is up to each team to peak at the right time.

Why have play offs then ?

Just because they know how it works, doesn't make it a good system

I think that may be just to you. We've doing this for some decades now you know

Ah well, just the one trophy this year, then.

Well said.

No issues with a play off system. Wigan were rewarded for their higher position with a home game against an in theory weaker team and they couldn't win the game.

That's fair enough to me.

Disagree

Coming top after 27 rounds is a phenomenal achievement

Winning a couple of knockout games is less so

So you would get rid of these games and next week at Old Trafford?

Harry Smith has missed 2 of the simplest kicks I've seen all year. Wigan desperately need a proper goal kicker

His bottle has gone tonight, he's actually been pretty good this season.

As a sport we've had more seasons with a play off system than without I think.

Maybe, still never been convinced by its veracity

Exactly, there are some valid arguments for it but knowing how it works isn't one of them
