Well done Oldham, great to see them put a plan into place and finally get some rewards for their hard work, unfortunately according to some on here they are too close to the M62.

Who said or wrote or implied that, and when?

What's happening at Oldham and Bradford is what I'm sure we all want to see happening. Highly motivated and capable owners, directors, players and fans fighting to restore their clubs to prominence and winning ways. It shows that those two clubs, in full knowledge of the "Re-imagining Rugby League" project, see a future for their clubs.

The acquisition and plan at Oldham was put together well before the 'project' and it has no relevance whatsoever to what's happening at the club. The board have been very clear about that. They have also stated that, whilst they may not personally agree with the current process, they are prepared to work with it as best as possible whilst it's still in place.

Understood. So they are not highly motivated and capable owners, directors, players and fans fighting to restore their club to prominence and winning ways.

I would argue that seeing as the A627M towards Oldham is mainly 30 feet above the ground that we are in international airspace and as such doesn't touch 'Rochdale'.  😉

That wont score you any points in IMG ratings!

For anyone who might be interested, all Oldhams matches are shown in full on YouTube around 4pm on a Tuesday. A highlights package is availability on a Monday and sometimes the night of the match. The match commentary is by George Riley who works for the club. It is on Roughyeds TV

Absolutely fantastic watching highlights and seeing that main stand full.

When we talk expansion we always talk about cities, or a big money man backs an area where there's little RL footprint. Then we wonder why it fails. But Oldham's been an area left to rot in RL terms despite producing some of the best RL players out there. A man with money has come in, backed them, got them back in Oldham in a great stadium and we're seeing new fans being brought into the game. It's  "expansion" on a lesser scale, than a Toronto, but new fans are new fans and it's great to see. This is how we grow the game.

Oldham seem to be doing a very good job of growing the club in the right direction. Should they be able to break that 3000 attendance barrier that would be a massive breakthrough.

I would much rather see investment in clubs like Oldham, Bulls, Widnes, York, Trinity than expansion teams like Toulouse and even London.

I think there’s a higher scope for long term success and genuinely think these clubs could offer something to SL or even a stronger second league over the next decade.

The championship imho could do with a rebrand, serious discussions for investment and tv deal for league and play offs. I’d possibly even look to consolidate a 16 team league with no relegation. Giving clubs the chance to work towards IMG criteria for the next 5-10 years.

Also, a media and social media presence closer to that of Superleague would be a vast improvement instead of a few token posts from the RFL page.

There’s so much potential to grow in the championship but it’s largely left untouched and unsupported imo.

That goes back to the idea of a SL 1 and SL 2 with p and r between them. Could still have minimum criteria for teams to get into SL 2

I'm pleased to see Oldham back and moving in the right direction. I traveled up with Coventry Bears a couple of times snd it genuinely shocked me where they were playing before. An absolutely horrible ground where no one should have to watch RL. Despite that there was one thing that shone through. The quality of the fans there. At that time small in number but loved their club and were passionate but friendly. I'm glad those people are getting rewarded now for hanging on in there.

Not what I meant. Promotion and relegation is off the table now and we must embrace it.

SL1 and 2 is fine but driven by criteria not promotion and relegation between them. Gives chances for clubs to really work towards the criteria.

When you have a high level of A clubs and upper B clubs across both divisions I’d have no problem in promotion and relegation then returning.

I think they would achieve this on Sunday week when the trophy is presented.

The reception we got at Hurricanes this season was superb. You have a great passionate base and a good central location. I really hope you kick on and build.

Other that the money the owners of these clubs have spent on them, what "investment" has been put into Toulouse and London and by whom?

Think we all know the answer to that one. This nonsense gets trotted out time and time again. I do wonder where people get their information from nowadays and why they are so scared of 'expansion'

Yep ! It'll be 'Party Time' against Workington.   Loud and Proud.

Let's hope we get our biggest crowd since far too many years ago.

We had that, it was called Super League and Championship.

Having SL1 & SL2 would change nothing.
