It’s  a rule but it’s pedantic to the extreme to disallow a try for it when he played no part in the move whatsoever.

What happened to referees discretion because that sort of nonsense does the game no favours at all

How did he play no part in the move whatsoever? He was one of the support players running through, and next to the player who caught and scored the try.

They've changed in the NRL to that kind of thing I think, so if a players within 10 but has no impact on the play at all it's ignored.

If you are in front of the play the ball, stay away from the following play.  It ain't difficult.

He was within 10 metres of a Leigh player at the end, as far as I understand that applies.

I thought that was the case but something happened/vr decision on sky a few years ago that got poured over and it was said it was a try as despite being in the ten there wasn't anyone attempting to catch the ball, which was the case here.

Ah well

In this instance, the opposite really, as early this season they started blowing the whistle as soon as a player was down town at all... to avoid the early kick chase.

Although they seem to have eased up a bit on it in the last couple of rounds.

Don't usually comment during a game, but if anyone can lip read dud you see those two little girls mouthing behind Moylan, disgusting.

Were they saying "are you going back home on the train?"

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Precisely this. We can’t be doing “refs interpretations” like that, or we’ll end up like Union

Offside

Got to retire at the play the ball or be outside 10 meters.

Daft sod was at the side of the kicker.

In any case the ref's interpretation was that it was no try.

The Leigh player who was nearest the kick. It’s a straightforward, no grey area, correct interpretation of the law

Definitely a daft sod. Offside for the entire tackle play. He can only become back onside at the next PTB

Hardaker is having a shocker (goes on to score winning try.)

Can't recall any positive input into a Leigh game this season.  Awful these days.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

Ah well

You may be thinking of the Wakey v Cas game last season where a poster spent a week deliberately misreading the laws and then another week rewriting them to try to prove that the referee and VR had got something wrong when they hadn’t …..

I meant more the inside the 10 from a kick thing, they were being much more lenient if a player just stood around. I get that sort of, but even not interfering could take the attention of a defender.

Imagine if Ellery Hanley played now, he'd really struggle with the downtown rule, he spent half his time in the defending teams line when his team had the ball...
