Rumours of clubs circling and you can see why. He’s exactly the type of forward Wigan and saints would be in for.

It's a danger if you are not a big club, as any Leigh fan can testify.

I’m just happy we have signed him up long term. Hopefully we can do what Leigh did next year but it’s good to see long term signings of the good pickups to avoid any upset.

A lot won’t see it due to poor media in champ but we have transformed into a much more professional outfit.

Time soon passes Trojan, Asiata, Amone and O'Donnell were on three year contracts which terminate this year.

Mike Cooper will be available next season. 36 years old, but still capable of being a good squad asset for a season or two more, if the right offer comes his way.

Couple of signings for Hull FC:

Looks like Hull are having a bonanza with all the Cartwright's coming in!

Not surprising as is Kai going back to North Queensland.

The Chamberlain transfer is a bit meh all round to be honest. The Hull reporter saying that he was close to a deal with Leigh, but he was also on the same list of players that were not offered a contract, along with Leutele, a few weeks ago.

From what I've seen, he's just not good enough, particularly at centre, for Super League. Offers little in attack and misses a surprising number of tackles. If I was a Hull fan, I'd be concerned at the prospect of Hardaker and Briscoe back together as a centre / wing combination, and praying that Chamberlain isn't a first choice alongside them.

More concerned with who we bring in for Amone and O'Donnell.

Might time to Gel but I am sure Leigh will have a better Centre back line next season

Sone good replacements to come for sure. I’m not too concerned. The guys going have done us proud.

The biggest danger for Leigh will be bringing so many overseas players in, in one go, in Super League. Amone, O'Donnell and Ipape will have benefited from the year in the Championship to settle in and establish themselves. In fact, O'Donnell wasn't even a starter until Joe Wardle got injured last season.

Shame that it looks like Leutele won't be staying, but even despite the role he played in last year's cup semi and final, I would've been happy to see us offload Hardaker this year to be honest.

To be fair I think that was more down to our lack of options at prop than Kai's ability. He was excellent as an ultra mobile prop in the championship and immediately one of our better performers. I think they planned to continue down that route at the start of last year but he was exposed with a lack of size to play down the middle in SL.

As for Leutele, I'd have personally kept him on another year on a reduced deal but the fact we haven't even offered a deal suggests a replacement has already been line up. I'm excited to see what we bring in for next year considering the sheer amount of cap space we have to throw around.

On top of that, Mr Ed's been announced today for next season.

George King and Liam Sutcliffe to Huddersfield in 2025, not sure if these have been mentioned yet?

Pray for the poor soul playing outside of Sutcliffe...

I don't think its a foregone conclusion that Leutele is going.  His back injury is a concern, but other than last week, he is playing himself for consideration IMHO for another contract.

No doubt he will go to Hull  LOL!!

Yeah our three quarter line is a little bit underwhelming tbh. If Chamberlain is coming to be a bit of a utility squad filler sort of player then that's fine, but if he's coming to be starting centre then that just adds to the feeling of meh.

That said I think we need to be realistic. We are trying to rebuild pretty much the whole team, and there just isn't the quality available to get that right first time. I think Myler has targeted solid, experienced Super League players who will get us back to being somewhat competitive whilst the young players continue to develop. The second phase of recruitment will target a bit more quality I hope.

It also sounds like Hull have signed Judah Rimbu, who is a young PNG hooker playing for PNG Hunters. He's got one international cap.

This now appears to be a done deal.  I wonder where this leaves some of the remaining imports, specifically Okunbor and Pele (and maybe Sao, who’s been more than good value) , as one will have to go to facilitate this.
In addition, Balmforth, who has been tagged by Grix as not being able to give his all for some of the games he’s played and is also on loan at Swinton.

Both Okunbor and Pele on loans to championship clubs.  Both have come through well organised and structured set ups in Australia.  Sure, not all Aussies hit it off when they come here but both are shadows of what we expected.

That’s a fantastic signing. Easily the PNG Hunters best player and a top player In QLD Cup. Very good running game from dummy half, will be a very exciting player off the bench. Could also become a starter with Houghton getting older.

Was also with the Dolphins in pre season, didn’t end up joining them though.

Interestingly most of the talk on the coaches down to Wembley is Josh Thewlis to wakey next season.

Seems unlikely with Johnstone, Walmsley and Jowitt as Wakeys back 3.
