We've  now also signed some union convert called Alfie Johnson.

I won't hold my breath.

Luther Burrell didn't exactly set the world on fire in the P & B!

It's bit different though with this guy.   He comes for free (in terms of cap space) and if it doesn't work out he hasn't really cost much (for a club that's happy to pee money away with gay abandon).

He's 23 and plays on the wing, which is probably the least difficult position to convert.   He's light years (ATM) behind Ashton, Thewlis and Sergent, plus we have Lindop, CTW and of course Wrench who can all play wing if necessary.

I'm not in the least bit worried about this particular experiment.   It's Simon and Stuart's hard-earned cash being spent, not ours 🙂

Money that could have been spent on an experienced league player?

I don't know why we bother with these experimental moves, from past experience they always end in favour.

I have no idea why.   Our current academy and reserve outside backs are some of the best around.

There must be something that Chambers has seen in him.   I've watched his Union highlights and he is tall, strong and has a good step.   A bit like a Ryan Hall or Feldt build of a winger, which we don't currently have.   I guess we'll see how he goes.

We've had many, many legends from rugby union.

If he is free on the cap, we can't spend that on an RL player necessarily.

Wire fans what has happened to the young tall centre who was originally at St Helens and played on loan at North Wales before joining your club. Burgess knew him from his roots in Dewsbury and he played some junior rugby in Australia. Apologies I cannot think of his name. Tall rangy centre.

Serious hamstring injury in preseason kept him out for months, his first training session back he did similar to the other leg so wasn’t fit to play at any point of the year. He’s not on our list of players leaving, so presume we have taken up an option to extend for another year.

Yeah a low risk play I think, doesn’t count on the cap so he’s not taking up space that an established player could use, plus due to his age more likely to be able to make a go of it compared to Burrell.

How far are you going back Dave?

Ok and thank you for the update. Hope all goes well for the lad.

That’s correct. Trinity academy product. Shame the lads picked up a few injuries that appear to have kept him out a while.

Maika Sivo to Leeds is a big rumour. Going to be interesting to see how Leeds’s back line lines up if true.

Miller

Sivo/Hall

Connor

Newman

Handley

Would be a big upgrade on last season IMO, with the two new forwards coming in and hopefully a fully fit Gannon and Holroyd the squad is looking far more balanced

So....which SL club is going to take a punt on Josh Ado-Carr? Sounds like he'll definitely be leaving Bulldogs and with the potential for the NRL to still impose a punishment against him, talks in Oz that he could cut his losses and look for a lucrative move to SL. Ordinarily i'd have said this was a prime Catalans signing but that won't happen with their new recruits. Leigh maybe?

Doubt it. Leigh's quota spots next year are Armstrong, Niu (to be officially confirmed), Liu, Condon, Pene, Ipape and Moylan.

If Moylan does retire I'd imagine they would look to use that spot on a half back.

Yeah must confess, i'm not up to speed with all clubs quotas and that will obvs have a massive bearing IF this with Ado-Carr does come about.

I just hope the inevitable nrl clause in the contract isn’t effective until the end of year 2. Otherwise, I’d rather have kept hold of Leutele
