The announcement doesn't exactly scream excitement about signing an England International.

To go against the grain a bit, I think  Connor's pantomime villain persona on the field is thought to mean he is a trouble causer off it, and I'm not sure if that's justified. He could be a good signing for the Rhinos if they use him well.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I think the Giants will be glad to get him off their wage bill

. haphazard

adjective

Lacking any obvious principle of organisation

"The Rhinos transfer policy is, for the sixth straight season, completely haphazard"

Oxford English dictionary definition.

"It will be different this time, hes at the right club blah blah blah"....

Leeds have been signing projects and gambling on finding potential in those who haven't shown it at other clubs for years now, its not really worked out for them. If it ever does it will be probably be more luck than judgement.

From all accounts I've heard, he is actually a well liked player and a nice guy, I don’t think he’s left clubs because of off field issues?

His on field behaviour is a different matter. I’m 50/50 on this one, Brad Arthur won’t take any nonsense from him though.

Bit like Salford in the recent years then, except they’ve had a bit of success with some players.

Wonder who signed those players? ;-)

It’s less about signing them and more about the culture of the coach and club. Salford are a very different club with a very different coach to Leeds, with pressure and expectation levels on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. It’s not as simple as having Blease make some Salford style signings.

Of course it’s not that simple. As I say I’m 50/50 on it, on his day he can be a match winner, it’s the other side of his game that needs managing. Will Arthur manage it? We’ll have to see.

Embarrassing

It's not great is it. But a player with something to prove can be a good thing too.

It will either be the making of him or he will last 5 minutes under Brad Arthur. I'm glad we have that sort of coach in for Connor than the sort we had with his predecessor!

Where does he fit into the side? Utility back? Half ahead of Frawley? FB ahead of Miller? Centres?

He kicks goals at least so that is a talent we have recruited!

Off the field Jake's a lovely, quiet lad, completely different to on it.

Recently he was one of my guests and one of the questions aimed at him was along the lines of - Jake, will you ever stop mouthing off at referees and just concentrate on your game?, his short, shrift  answer was NO!.

I daren't tell Leeds fans what he said about their club though!!!

He's mixed opinion among our fans since he came back, rare flashes of brilliance but quite a bit of sulking and petulance, personally i don't think he will be that much of a miss.

Still Leeds had to get their annual 'Huddersfield reject' signing in at some time 😉

I think for me it's that season in season out you look who's leaving the Rhinos and then who they bring in. On paper it invariably appears they've improved the squad...but never quite works out that way. So far it's a complete mixed bag - the 2 forwards (Keenan Palasia, Cooper Jenkins) could be the fire power in the pack that was undoubtedly missing last year. But then the backs (Hall, Connor) feel like massive gambles, which sounds counterintuitive with them 2 being so experienced in SL - a 37 year old Hall and hit or miss Connor isn't what was in order.

I think Ryan Hall has been signed for more than just the player on field, however he is still up there with the best wingers in the league even at 37, I've more confidence in him taking the field than I would have Fusitua who he replaces. We've got some talented outside backs coming through the system and I think Ryan will help them improve.

They rarely work out do they at any of the big clubs. Every time Wigan have signed a player like this it goes the same way too.

People wanted Blease to come in and do what Blease did at Salford.

Connor is exactly the kind of player Salford would have signed.

Whether a "big club" should have a different signing strategy is open to question  but Blease's immediate task is to find value and extract the most he can from what is already a moderately full salary cap. Connor has plenty of upside if the coach can manage his wild side.

So he will have a contract clause that says "we can get shut of you at anytime"? Hasn't he signed a two year contract, I doubt at 29 he will just walk away without recompense.
