The youth system at Wakefield has never been better staffed and resourced than it is right now. Matt Ellis is openly looking for suitable land upon which to build a state of the art training complex for all the squads at Wakefield Trinity which will enhance the the development of young players entering or coming through Wakefield Trinity’s Youth Programme.

That said let’s take a look at a few highlights from this years Championship squad, Max Jowitt just broke the record for points in a season at Wakefield which is some feat at a club which boasts World Record points scorer Neil Fox.

Oliver Pratt who only turned 20 3 weeks ago has played 44 games this year and scored 23 tries in all competitions.

Jack Croft looks set to be a part of next years squad while Joe Law will again be on loan to York

Noah Booth has broken through this year with some eye catching performances, scoring try’s, creating try’s and winning Man of the Match

Tom Johnstone will return next year and he needs no introduction

We will boast 2 English Half Backs in Trueman and Russell

Ellis Lingard made an outstanding debut at just 17 years old and will be a future star in the Trinity pack for years

Harvey Smith will get plenty of game time at Hooker next year

Isaac Shaw looks set to be part of Trinity’s squad in 2025 and is another promising front rower

lets not forget that Josh Griffin and Jay Pitts are Wakefield Youth products

Unfortunately we’ve lost the services of James Batchelor, Jordan Crowther, Yusuf Aydin, Leon Ruan and Sam Eseh who are all playing Superleague elsewhere.

I don’t think Wakefield are doing too bad to be honest!

There is an absolute peach of land within an exclusive area of WF2. I know he has been sniffing but I don’t profess to have the inside track on it. It would be a brilliant location for the club though. Politics will play a massive part in it and not on ME part. Think the council and definitely the current cowboy lease holder will definitely raise the purchase bar. If you know then you know. If not then you will basically think that I am talking an old load of twaddle!

Hopefully that's the last of our signings leading up to 2025.  🤞

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

Here to be shot down and please crack on. Wakey lad born and bred and we never shy away from matters. I am disturbed at Wakefield’s junior Aussie recruitment policy. To me the club are openly stating that the British development standards are not worth intertwining with. If all British clubs eventually adopt such a policy then this will definitely signal the death of the British international game.

Mate we could field an entire back line of club trained players next season. Plus add in Scott, Trueman, Russell, Stornton along with Doyle and club trained Lingard, Harvey Smith and Stephenson, we have plenty of young British players.

He was great for Catalans, not sure what went wrong there.

If that's true I'll be happy with that 👌🏼

Rumour had it.

Fully deserved. He was great in the Championship in 23 and didn’t look out of place this season in SL. I think Wakey have got a great signing here

He’s a decent hardworking pro, just when he’s in a team with a non existent pack he’s not going to look good. Wrong player wrong team, hope he gets a gig somewhere else

Jake Conner to Leeds.

This guy could be brilliant in every game for them, and really make a huge difference.

As long as Leeds only play one game every 3 months.

Don't they already have Walmsley and Johnstone signed up? Can't see him getting ahead of either.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I would say he is just a squad strengthener

Very Blease type signing, Salford have signed quite a few talented but fallen by the wayside players.

Whether that works in this case we’ll have to see

I guess it all depends on whether Arthur can sort out the really strange in-game attitude / personality that Connor has.   By all accounts he's a fairly decent guy off the field.

I've a lot of time for Russell. Sure he has errors in him, and he's had some injury struggles, but I'd like to see him have a decent end to his career, he could be a useful squad player.

Russell was pretty much working for free during his last stint at Warrington.   He's had his off-field issues and is at least putting himself out there as a super-cheap squad option so he can go out on a good note.   I'm sure he'll be a good value-for-money backup player.
