In the long term yes if nothing improves but they’ve just got 500,000. Can’t see much moving now maybe mid season and definitely next year if cash flow doesn’t improve

500k from the annual deal, not an extra 500k. Debts built up despite cheap/no rent etc Player sales and 350k “share” issue so factor they won’t be there and 500k upfront means the poop hits the fan soon

Not so sure about that. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a condition on the advance that said that appropriate steps would have to be taken to make sure that there were no more cash flow issues during the next 12 months.

I think that the club have weeks, rather than months, to have a completed stadium deal or takeover before they have to start cutting costs.

But for all we know, both the stadium deal and the takeover could be imminent.

To Salford 😮

No, that's not the rumour

Anyway, May is probably on as much as Sneyd anyway and that's not the sort of thing that would work for Salford.

In the short term would be more accurate. The £500k, on its own, won’t last long

So without going into detail as regards the other 'roumer' will May be at HKR next season?

I don't think Lakin would have gone in for Sneyd, or allowed the story to leak, if he was. So no, think he's gone.

Who broke the story? I've not being paying attention to where it started, because you can often work out which journalist is close to someone from whichever club.

Aaron Bower broke the story.

King Vuniyayawa to Fev

Glad he left, was a waste of money. Hope Fev can get something from him.

Always thought he did ok when I saw him on the TV. Short stint off the bench mind you...

He is a big lad who seemed to work in very very short spells. He gave away too many pens and stood with his hands on his hips too frequently for me. I found him frustrating to watch.

A lot of that spending is contractually committed so unless the plan is to offer players out to other clubs (many of whom have their rosters set), then there is limited scope to reduce costs on that front, at least until the end of the season.

Again, I still believe that the real issue for Salford is the lack of growth, rather than the underlying cost base, which must be one of the smallest in the league. Bringing someone in to "manage the decline" doesn't feel like the right appointment to me. I have respect for Carter's skillset, I just don't think it's the skillset the club needs.

Without Carter, it looks doubtful that those players will see their contracts paid for the duration of the season.

Carter's skillset is exactly what Salford need in order to survive.

Do you think the Red Devils will be asking for advance TV payments for many years to come?

It dosnt have to be a fee. I know how Carter works. He will be happy to ditch a very high earner and replace him with a low earner, difference in ability would not be an issue. Therefore a player swap would be a way to sign Sneyd

Whatever we think of Carter we know he will get them back on a even keel, but playing in the championship is probably the price they will have to pay, but if that is the price they have to pay for being a professional or semi professional perhaps, so be it.

My sources say that Michael Carter is considering the death penalty, for poor financial planning, being considered for Salford directors. I am pro-life and take no pleasure in reporting this.

I was born to run a club like this. Number 1, I do not spook easily, and those who think I do, are wasting their time, with their surprise attacks.

I wouldnt worry about them too much, after a few months of Carter they will have already lost the will to live.

With Carter there wouldn't be Wakefield today.

Whatever you think of his methods they do work, but are very painful, and then again the Red Devils have brought this themselves

Tell you what, you take over you’re such a proven expert. RL is full of people who slag off others but do nothing themselves. You strike me as such.
