Quite a few back for Warrington,  Ashton, King,  Fitzgibbon,Lindop, Dufty and Sneyd making is debut. Form rarely dictate the results of these games but hoping for a Warrington win.

Hope Wire do it. Everyone at the start of the season harping on about Saints etc......

Wire need to step up!

I just can’t see us winning this one, i fear Davies will be thrown into the centres, Clark will be made to play the full eighty and will be crawling on 70mins. Saints will play it down the middle, With with their pace will move it out wide, Wire by ten.

Were people harping on about us? I must have missed that. Within Saints fans circles as far as I'm aware, the outlook isn't too optimistic at the moment.

I really don't know what to think about either of these teams yet. Saints might have only lost one game, but they have had the easiest fixtures of anyone, and they looked average at best in that one game where they faced good opposition. Warrington on the other hand simply haven't got going at all.

I'll go Saints by 10, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised by any scoreline in this one.

From what I've seen this season, I'd play Tai over Lindop until the latter stops missing tackles.

Fitzgibbon being fit is massive for us, but I fear Russell is poor replacement for Nicholson. I hope he proves me wrong.

Really excited to see us play with a 7 that knows what he's doing at this level.

Now the Wire.

Tai's defence is horrendous. Better tackler but that's because he makes so many misreads that the 1 in 4 he gets right he is fully set. Agree on Russell, seemed a strange signing. Maybe Nicholson was on a lower contract than his contribution merited (given his age) and there wasn't loads to replace him with.

Wire have the better backline but Saints forwards could make them redundant. I just don't think that Wires pack is good enough to hold out against guys like Wamsley and Paasi.

Saints by 10

With Sneyd - if it's not to early since his signing for him to know and his teammates to know him - then I think Wires chance of winning is much improved he can be the rudder to guide them that they are so desperately mssing, not that I think this present version of Saints is much better than Wire just Wire have been less impressive than Saints in what I have seen so far this season.

Tai will never be half the player lindop already is. The less said about the Russell/Johnson signings the better. We also signed a scrum half and have replaced him with another 4 weeks into the season. Our off season recruitment could kindly be described as shambolic.

I mostly agree. I think both Russell and Johnson are worthy 'project' signings, and they might yet come good, but it shouldnt have been the position that they became first-17 players at this stage. Anyone could see that Russell was not a replacement for Bateman or Nicholson, and the club surely knew (as everyone else suspected) that Fitzgibbon was likely to spend a lot of time on the sidelines.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I was just about to say the same thing. It certainly wasn’t Saints fans.

Sculthorpe and Wilkin eh. I assume Cunningham or Amor on commentary.

Indeed, we don't see Lee Penny and Mark Forster do we.

Although for balance we should add that both Carney and Sculthorpe have played for Wire.

I'm going to disregard Carney and note that Sculthorpe just said of Sneyd: "he's the player I wish we.. Saints had signed last season."

Followed by 5-10 minutes of all three sneering at us.

Why are Saints bringing trophies out onto the field?

Very strange behaviour. Hope it's finally put some fire into our pack's bellies.

I had to double check who was at home.
