sweaty craiq
I may have to take back all I said regarding Batley and apologise to BSJ if this is true - absolutely shocked at Widnes and London though
dboy
Two things: 1. Gledhill lists some clubs who he says, definitely wanted to play on - there is no suggestion or evidence that the list is exhaustive. 2. Never, ever, EVER, mistake Gledhill for a "respected journalist".
RigbyLuger
I saw Swinton weren't happy with his analysis of their accounts. Some people need to be talked about, perhaps we all need to stop that.

No. The decision was made by the RFL Board, this was covered repeatedly on another thread in answer to more than one poster including you. The clubs were canvassed for their opinions on a range of options. Then the RFL Board made the decision on how to proceed.

Could be a reason for them not being interested (if this is true of course).

Not sure what everyone’s problem is with Mick Gledhill; if you don’t like his stuff don’t read it or listen to his podcast, but why so many snide remarks? It’s pretty unpleasant at times and unbecoming of the RL community.

JohnM
Mick names 7 clubs that "definitely wanted to play on". Does he name the clubs that "definitely don't want to play on" or are people just assuming that the other clubs were agains it? Do the 7 clubs who "definitely wanted to play on " lay down conditions that can't be met? E.g "we definitely want to play on provided we get our costs covered when going to Toulouse." Cut Mick some slack, too. Question his accuracy, his reporting but don't question his dedication, motivation and application. eiπ + 1 =

A lot of his stuff has an agenda and is propoganda to support his viewpoint. Remember his #positiverugbyleague campaign which ran alongside his hate campaign of anything SL? Remember his rant that the independent match timing was wrong because his watch said it was. And, coincidentally, when the hooter went, Bradford were losing a close game but going forward. And that's not a rant made on a forum but in his role as a visible media pundit and respected journalist. Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Some may be on the verge of folding if they release players from furlough. Why should they be named and shamed for not wanting to play behind closed doors with no paying spectators? This is a worldwide pandemic not a worldwide pedantic. Cut these teams some slack.
