Australian rugby league is on a different planet to the rest of the world.

They don't need to have their own referee or any help with referee decisions.

Funny thing is they always get both.

They are but it’s like comparing the English Premier League with Australias Soccer league!

They are in 1st place as far as sport go’s they have the money, the sponsorships, the profile, first pick of the athletes etc and they don’t have to cope with a GIANT sporting competitor like our Premier League, Championship, Rugby Union, Cricket & athletics. Rugby League is probably 6th or 7th in the sporting pecking order in this country

I don't subscribe to the view that any referee will deliberately favour one team over the other (well, maybe apart from the French guy last night).  Referees have integrity 99.99% of the time.

But it is an awful look for our sport that Australia have contested 2 World Cup finals today and both were refereed by an Australian.

It was a far more legitimate charge down attempt than most challenges you see. You see kickers taken out time and again, and far later too, without penalty.

Oh, I agree. I suppose the pedantic ref line would be that the kicking leg was touched.

Don’t let @RippinandTearin hear you say that.

Especially when there’s no need for it.

Can somebody please save us from Woods, Davies and Noble droning on about how Australia have been out of sight for 50 years, and dragging the international game down in front of a huge TV audience in our biggest global match? Just old men wittering

When Samoa scored, they started talking about it being a consolation. There was 20 minutes left, in a 14 point ball game🙄

Sell the sizzle, please

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

Contact while the kicker was still in the air and knocking him off balance.

Obviously there are no neutral referees that are good enough.

It's an example of the disdain they have of Superleague

John Kear was shocking last week, if that was what he was England coach I am not surprised we lost.

Isn't it the standing leg that is protected for the kicker.  The kicking leg is far more likely to be touched in a charge down attempt and much less dangerous.
