I have always said ten team super league. If we merged or rebrand all the heartland club we could have a league of ten 5 clubs from from Yorkshire , 3 from greater Manchester , 1 from Merseyside and one from Cheshire.   All the other teams would complete in a development league.

My Yorkshire 5.

1 , Hull Raiders - Hull FC and Hull KR

2. Wakefield FC Tigers - Wakefield , Featherstone and Castleford.

3. Leeds City Rhinos - Leeds and Hunslet.

4. Bradford Calderdale Bulls - Bradford , Keighley and Halifax.

5. Kirklees Calderdale Cougars - Huddersfield , Dewsbury , Batley. Halifax

Greater Manchester.

1. Wigan Borough Warriors   Wigan and Leigh.

2. Manchester Mets - Oldham and Rochdale.

3. Salford Lions - Salford and Swinton.

Cheshire.

1. Warrington Cheshire Wolves - Warrington and Widnes.

Merseyside.

1 , ST Helens Liverpool Saints- ST Helens And Widnes.

i have given Widnes and Halifax two possible teams.

How about Catalans and Toulouse merge to form a French super club, the South France Guillotines. Why have you excluded them from your ten?

Disappointing you haven't given us at Thunder a chance here. Merge with York to create The NewYork Thunder Knights.

Up the Thunder Knights! 🟣🟡⚫

Or merge with Catalans to form the Thunder Cats?

Missed you, Superten.

Great ideas — I would just tweak the Wakey franchise’s name to Wakefield FC Roving Tigers, just to mash all three existing clubs identities in there.

All 3 clubs are in Wakefield, so just need a catchy suffix that means "three", to represent there being 3 clubs in the merger.

I don't know, something like..."Trinity" maybe?

I can live with that.

Terrible idea. Was terrible in 1995 and worse now. We had two mergers, both failed and nearly bankrupted the clubs.
Like it or not we have a sport which is very strong in the current areas in which it is played. Just like RU is strong in its own areas. We really need investment in the areas of strength and continue to grow from within.
SL and the championship need more varied games rather than continual loop fixtures.
a super league and championship of 16 teams each (or similar numbers) would be far more enjoyable.

Fans would rather their own club fold than merge with their local rival. That is how daft discussing the topic is.

Just can't believe it keeps being brought up. Whatever people's opinions are. It's a very old conversation.

I guess you have to remember there are lots of new fans to the sport ....some if which come here and might think it makes sense

They haven't necessarily heard the previous arguments etc

This is at least the third time that this poster has started a thread like this.

I'm an old timer mate 👍 I can however give one example. I very much doubt you'll get an Oldham and a Rochdale set of fans cheering a merged club

The first big Problem is with the stadium location, unless its in a totally neutral venue then it basically becomes a takeover and the club becomes a representative of the town its based in not a merger.

Why not merge everybody and have one big Europe club?
