Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

My vote is for John Kear based on what he achieved at Widnes 😉

Whilst my humble vote goes to the Rick Marshall, based on his tremendous year at SRD. 😄

I just hope Wire wasn't speaking to Holbrook (cos someone has) before jettisoning Powell.

What exactly is that based on?

I find this narrative really odd, and as much as I'm not Steve Price's biggest fan, I think it is really disrespectful to his team. In his four seasons with Warrington his team finished 4th, 4th, 2nd, 3rd.

In 2018 - we lost the Cup Final  in a classic against Catalans and lost in the Grand Final in a close game against Wigan.

In 2019 - we beat Saints in the Cup Final before a disappointing playoff loss at home to Cas.

In 2020 - we lost in the Cup Semi to Salford and SL semi to Hull disappointingly.

In 2021 - we lost in the Cup and League semis again to Cas and Hull KR.

We clearly had developed a bit of a habit of losing those big tight games, but the league position just doesn't support all these claims of a rotten culture.

Sorry, to be clear - that was the narrative Powell created, not what I personally believe

Do I glean from that in your mind Warrington are no different now than they were at the beginning of the season, is it just most other teams have improved and gone past them?

Slightly better, cooper should have been kept he's a Warrington lad who gave everything. Out of the players Leigh took Charnley and possibly Mulhern the rest I agree with letting go.

People who new me would back up the early season form predictions but I didn't expect the big drop off And as for teams improving only Leigh, HKR, Catalan have really moved on Wigan and saints are not as good the rest are similar.

Aye, but all above Wire now but weren't for the first 9 or 10 rounds, to be honest Elbow I think it is a combination of both aspects all are seeming better than Wire at this present time who have drastically gone backwards whilst all the others have upped their game.

Saying that now that Powell is out of the way, watch them go and beat Catalan this weekend, stranger things have happened.

Who would the Wire fans like to see on the short list to replace Powell?

Another current SL coach, an NRL assistant or someone from left field?

@Dave T?

(I don’t mean Dave T to step in! Haha)

They should get Steve Anderson back.

He had them heading in the right direction.

Considering the mess that we were in as a club back in those days, being in that company is quite damning.

The crazy thing is that we have beat the Dragons in France twice this season.

I'm not a fan of any coach getting the sack as a general rule but I can't help feeling Powell's been put out of his misery now. It can't have been a pleasant position to be in on a personal level, and I still maintain he isn't a bad coach. Having done well in the past, maybe he's just encountered something here that he maybe hasn't come across before but that he'll reflect on and learn from in time. Maybe a type of infrastructure/working processes at a club like Warrington that you don't get at the likes of Cas (no disrespect intended).

Whatever the reasons, I hope he moves on from what's been a pretty painful experience in rugby terms and comes back stronger.

Something was not quite right .I was thinking when after a recent defeat he stayed in his box for a long time before going for the usual interviews . What was he like with the players at that time ? His Castleford team of 2017 played some great football

and yet won nothing of note.  that seems to be an ongoing thing with Powell's teams . when it comes to the crunch they fail .  it happend at at fev and cas and you can see it happening again..

perhaps he will have more luck at Bradford were the expectation will be lower.

I think it's Justin Holborooks if he wants it, but i hear his wife has a very good paying job in Australia and would be very reluctant to give it up.

Adam O'Brien is an interesting one, I know we sent him on loan to Halifax to get him game time but thats a big step up 🙂
