FRIDAY 18th AUGUST
Sheffield Eagles v Featherstone Rovers Sheffield by 4

SATURDAY 19th AUGUST
Toulouse Olympique v Swinton Lions Toulouse by 60

SUNDAY 20th AUGUST
Bradford Bulls v Newcastle Thunder Bradford by 32
Keighley Cougars v Batley Bulldogs Batley by 18
London Broncos v Halifax Panthers Fax by 8
Widnes Vikings v York KO  Knights York by 4

Some interesting games this weekend with the friday game the pick. How do Fev react after the turmoil of the last couple of weeks against a Sheffield team that no doubt Mark Aston will have them up for it. Sheffield are more than capable of beating anyone at home. How do the 2 1885 cup finalists come through after last week and a really tough trip back down London for Fax and then the last game I found it really hard to pick a winner. Who knows which version of each team turns up.

We reacted to the turmoil of the Fax defeat very well thank you, Fax may have done us a favour 👍

Promotion train is back on track.

Chizzy back on track doing what good half backs should varied kicking game.Hand in two tries and scored one himself following up his own kick.A win home to Keighley next week should see us clinch top spot.Points difference at present +233.Eagles are a good side i wouldn't say there is much between them and Fax but they lack strength in depth.

Good result for toulouse missing to much important players.

Think if there's one thing we've learned about Toulouse this season, it's that they're a very good team with something like their best 17 playing, but take two or three key players out and they tend to struggle. Wouldn't read too much into this latest result/performance as both halves were amongst the absentees, but from what I've seen of them three of yesterday's missing players (Ralph, Peyroux & Jussaume) have been three of their key players this year.

I mentioned a few days ago that Swinton always put in the effort in France, they weren't going to get smashed by 60. They have form. Missing Ralph and Shorrocks is a big problem as they've been playing well together and Shorrocks has been kicking well. Missing Dom and PJ also. They will be missing for a few more games and you can add to that list Biscarro. Just a good job Zac has joined as he has been excellent at FB. Looks like no proper halves or centres for a few games.

The road show rolls into Albi next week and it's not going to be too hot. Wet and warm I think.

Band now down to Zero.

Still no dancing girls.

Looks like we've seen the downside of reaching the 1895 Final today. Not knocking it, a great day for fans of Halifax and Batley, nor indeed taking anything away from Keighley or London, but it's got to be tough backing up against opponents that had a weekend off when you are literally coming off a Cup final.

3008 at Widnes, maybe 75 from York.

20-12 at half time, then an implosion as York ran riot with three tries in five minutes. Two tries by Widnes at the end made the score a bit better, but no hiding that we had are butts kicked.

York fans great

Ref , no complaints, was good.

It was the heart speaking not the head.

However what a great result.

It certainly was i never expected that or Fax losing at London although not as a big a shock as Batley losing.

Keighley have thrown a curved ball into the mix at the bottom of the championship today. Whitehaven v Barrow tomorrow night now even more important for both clubs. Keep expecting Barrow to pull away from the bottom but the longer the season goes and they still remain there!! Whitehaven away on a Monday night with Haven well up for it won't be easy. Will 18 points be enough?

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.

We got our sub rotation a bit wrong today. We never had our big hitters all on the field at the same time. Olly Davies was just wasted today

great entertainment but in all honesty both sides virtually sharing 70 points suggests neither should make the playoffs

York won't make the play offs, we didn't expect them to with all the injuries we've had, up to 12 players out for many games, think we're safe now, have a good sort out and go again next year.

It’s certainly going to be an exciting chase for the top 6. I wouldn’t rule Fax out, except Toulouse away, it’s a decent run of fixtures.

Yeah results went our way again despite losing and we do have the easiest of the run ins barring Toulouse which is at home so I would hope we would make the playoffs but who knows this season.
