The only way I would switch Hardcastle would be so that Bussey could play the Danny Addy role - but it would indeed weaken the defence! Plus we don't really have another centre other than maybe Wynne or the exceptional centre who is totally irreplaceable at hooker, Connor Jones.

I think the pack looks weaker with Addy out and Hardcastle would add  more to it.But as TPH says Eden may be a weak link in the centre on defence.Connor Jones in the centre would be interesting. He has never let us down in that position. Then maybe Patton as number 9 i would leave Lacans in the halves as he can split the defence better with his pace something Patton lacks. But like Gareth Southgate i think Ford has the mentality of not losing games rather than winning with all out attack.

TPH is spot on about Eden imo SOA2. He is an excellent winger. A brilliant finisher.

He looks good moving with the ball in his hands and I can see the attraction to playing him at full back or even at 6 but it's been tried and its failed. I don't think his positional play at full back is that good. I seem to recollect him inviting 40 20s. His one v one tackling is suspect and against a bigger opponent he seems intimidated. The effort against the Batley giant forward who scored from about 40 yards out was embarrassing by anyone's standard. His decision making is equally suspect. Often caught in two minds. Sheffield away springs to mind.

Wing suits both his strengths and weaknesses. At the moment though Gale and Wynne have those positions nailed and I'd be happy to see the Mad Ox as 1st choice cover.

Point is KEEP HARDCASTLE AT CENTRE.

Interesting listening to the conjecture, fellas. Particularly when it comes to playing guys 'out of position'. We've done the same this season through necessity. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it's a 'mare.

The platform the forwards can provide will be key and then it's between Hingano and Benny to see who has the more influence.

By the way, never seen Josh Hardcastle have a bad game and I reckon he'll go well wherever he plays.

I just wonder whether you might 'get us' out wide with Wynny and Gale??

By the way, if you can't make the trip, full match comms on BBC Radio York from 2pm (with possible apologies to BBC Radio Leeds and JD as I'm not sure whether they are covering it.)

Either way both sets of fans will be dancing if Barrow beat Widnes.

Gale ? Very rarely gets ball. Anyway hopefully a good game and what will be will be.

Yeah, it’s going to be great, when we get battered next week at Odsal. The only positive, hopefully a decent crowd and some money.

Got to be in it to win it ☺.

Tubby will be fuming! Not sure we’ve deserved it this year with our inconsistency. Can’t see us making an impact in the play offs. Few quid in the coffers at least.

Yer deserve to be where you finish with your results over the season, and as yer know we've had a real mixed bag lol.

Clueless Ford somehow engineers us into the playoffs and probably saves his job for the entire 2025 season. Garbage.

You actually didn't offer anything at us in the second half even though you had a lot of possession in our half.

You should have seen us against Sheffield!

Ford ball. 5 drives and a kick and if that doesn't work then 5 drives and a kick.

Agree mate the maths decides who gets in. But I’ve witnessed some performances this year with a lack of pride and effort that shouldn’t be rewarded with a play off place in my opinion.

The game was a tremendous advert for the Championship. Both teams missed chances, but I thought our defence was outstanding especially in the second half. Biggest difference was the half backs, I didn't think Lacans or Reynolds had as much influence as Hingano and Harris. You've made the play offs, I really hope you turn Bradford over next week, just a shame you have to go to the tip that is Odsal.

Apart from the incorrectly disallowed try by Gale who did not knock on, or the near try by Day who was just stopped short by your winger. Other than that you're right. York did not trouble our line except for the second try by Harris. There was really nothing between the teams. Too many handling errors by Rovers and a ref who will speed up the ruck would've helped us more today.

"Out of the way, son. Where's my medal?" Alex Murphy's immortal words as David Hobbs scores his 2nd try in the '83 Cup Final!

You got to understand PB It's all down to the eagles giving the rams their second win of the season which gave undeserving FEV a place  in the playoffs

If the ref had sped up the play the ball, we’d probably have put 40 on you.

If you look on the BBC tables ., they have us and Sheffield on 28 points with us on 6th with a difference of 122 and Sheffield with a difference of 100 in 7th.    BBC strikes again , What a bl---dy organisation of nitwits.

If you're referring to the disallowed try in the first half, the ref. made the right call. The crossfield kick was right in front of us, and almost every Fev player was in front of the kicker, that's why the 'try' was chalked off.
