Two social media posts in the past month….  And probably more telling is the fact they haven’t made any announcements on player retentions or any new players coming in.

A matter of time before they go the way of pretty much all the other expansion clubs?

Seriously - can't clubs announce signings at a time of their own choosing?

Does every signing have to be announced while the ink is still wet on the page?

Have some patience.

No this is the internet generation. No immediate information means bad news.

As mentioned elsewhere there are strong rumours that their license is for sale.

Selling to a new and improved London Scholars I’ve heard.

Is that a rebrand from the Skolars brand?

Internet or not, I know from certain knowledge that new signings are not always announced immediately.

Only a gullible fool would believe otherwise.

That was their original name. I believe they changed when they got sponsored by Skol lager

I don’t think they were ever called Scholars, they started as Student Rugby League Old Boys, which rolled off the tongue.

What Eddie said - I don't believe they ever had the Scholars name as a RL club before going to Skolars due to the beer sponsorship that never ended up happening.

I have always thought new signings should be drip fed,to keep interest going in the off season. As for Skolars I reckon that's completely tosh trying to buy League1 license. Cost to much money.  Only my simple opinion

It is complete rubbish. It’s Bedford Tigers who missed out on L1 application who are trying to buy Cornwall’s license.

Skolars couldn’t raise 10k last year to pay debts and fund their SCL season, so how would they afford it. My follow up question there would be - they must still have their League 1 license? As far as I am aware - it wasn’t sold.

Someone from within the Cornwall set up is trying to buy the license from Perez but needs to raise another £200k to do so.

£200k!!! With funding being £10-15k per year it's worth £20k at most. Anyone who is willing to pay more than that is a complete mug. Mind you even if they got it for free it probably wouldn't be the most sensible decision 🤣

Maybe £200k to buy it and run the club for a season, there is no way Perez would want £200k for the licence.

Yes - exactly. 200k for license and then costs, should have clarified in first post.

Well good luck to Cornwall, it would be a massive shame for another club to go to the wall.

Unless there's a fundamental shift in the sports sink or swim approach to new clubs then it will continue to happen.

I thought that the Cornwall ownership had bought into Truro City FC with a view to sharing the new stadium? Or was that wishful thinking?

They did - It is thought that their attentions have now turned to Truro FC rather than the RL club.

Who knows what is going on, no information/news could mean anything in RL.

I am sure it all fits in with IMGs plans for taking the game to new heights.

What has IMG got to do with anything?

IMG ranked Cornwall 34/35 - essentially at the "we're not sure you're really a club" level.

But this can be turned to mean, apparently, that they don't know what they're talking about.
