A couple of days ago I walked past a house with some building work going on and one of the builders was the absolute spitting image of Danny Houghton.

Whether it was him I don't know because I don't know what he is doing post retirement but it got me wondering what other retired players are doing now? So do you know what a retired player is doing now?

Well if Danny is on the sites i hope he is getting a trade and not just labouring

Josh Charnley is a qualified bricklayer, he works on the sites in the off-season.

Chris Hill runs his own plumbing business outside of RL.

I have it on good authority that he'd tarmac your drive.

Much-travelled centre Jimmy Kleinhorst retired 2/3rds through the regular season this year at York, to commence training as a driver on Trans-Pennine trains.

Zak Hardaker is apparently telling everyone that Jimmy is his new chauffeur.....

A few years I was sat on the settee on my IPad.  My wife was watching a reality program on UKTV about Paramedics based around Leeds.

All of a sudden I was startled to hear a voice on TV I hadn’t heard for about 45 years.  I looked up and asked the wife to rewind the program a few seconds.  It showed a Paramedic talking to an elderly lady who had fallen.  The voice that I recalled from my teenage years in the late 70’s belonged to an old mate, Shaun Irwin who played for Cas, Oldham and GB.

Big respect to Shaun and all Paramedics.

A little 'off topic' but I remember being a star struck teenager delivering the Warrington Mid-Week Guardian on a paper round, when all of a sudden, Bob Jackson jumped out of the bin man truck and asked me for a newspaper. He was playing for Warrington at that time in the early 90's!

Of course, he got a copy of the Guradian.

Also remember Kevin Tamati, after his career picking us up in a taxi after a night in Mr Smiths.

Legends, the both of them

Was he driving for Wire Wheels, Mike Nick's firm?
