My favourite has to be St. James' Park. Great location right in the centre of Newcastle, incredible atmosphere in and around the ground, real carnival atmosphere with sun and blue skies each time I've been. A really quirky ground with a lot of character.

My least favourite is without a doubt Anfield. I went to the Four Nations final there, one of the dullest games I've ever seen. Absolutely no atmosphere or noise in the ground, completely dead. Rubbish location with nothing around it. Some of the worst leg room I've ever come across, still got dents in my knees 9 years on.

Favourite as a Leigh fan, Hilton park, Least favourite, The boulevard, The Hull fans did their job of making it extremely hostile. Favourite away was any of our Cumbrian teams, The scenery on our preferred route was spectacular.

Fave.  On the kop at Central Park. Went there during its demolition, very sad.

Worst.  Wilderspool.

Always liked Headingley and was a regular there when living in Leeds for 4 years. Great atmosphere and mix of old and new.

Worst was Olympic Stadium. It was absolute terrible with nothing at all going for it. Easily the poorest new stadium I have been in.

Favourite; Watersheddings....always found the atmosphere to be good, and have many happy memories of matches there.

Least Favourite..Central Park, Wigan.. went countless times , but apart from being big, it had little else to commend it. Dreadful sightlines, shallow terracing, and just about the worst 'new' stand ever when they built the poor looking clubhouse end stand.

Watersheddings just reeked of Rugby League. I think I only went there four or five times but it really sticks in my memory as a ground that was perfect for its club and was central to their identity - it was an utter disaster when they lost it.

Crazy scenes here with talk of the Watersheddings 🤣

Favourite - Suncorp probably. Historic-wise, Central Park, very fond memories of big games there, attending with my dad.

Least favourite - Olympic Stadium as others have said. Absolutely terrible.

Worst - Kippax for the friendly welcome.

I’m interested, what happened at Kippax (I grew up in the village!).

Best: Mount Pleasant (Batley). As a York (and Cas) fan I’m not allowed to say Headingley but I think it’s impressive what they’ve done there. Bit of a soft spot for Hunslet too, cracking view from the top tier.

Worst: The ‘away’ stand at Belle Vue. Sightlines are awful. Not sure why but I’ve never liked Hull FCs stadium, I kinda feel sorry for the FC fans having to go there every other week after the character they had at The Boulevard. Sheffield’s current ground again has awful views.

Best experience was Millennium Stadium with a full house and the roof closed. Leeds v Bradford in cup final - can't remember the date.

I also have fond memories of Odsal (yes, I know!). The 1978 2nd test (Peter Fox) v Australia with 28k remains a wonderful memory for me.

But for sheer romance, I spent many a happy childhood day in the late 60s at Headingley. With its undersoil heating, it was often the only game taking place in the snow. The smell of pipe tobacco in the South Stand, that bloke who used to wander around shouting "Ruuuugby Leeeeger....", Eddie Waring climbing up the steel ladder; The green buses home. Those weird tree-like knobbly posts. I used to trade programmes with the other kids, and it allowed me to see programmes from Lancashire places that seemed so far away and so incredibly exotic. I went to the floodlit game between Leeds and Saints there in the early 70s when the BBC used their own floodlights because normal floodlights were banned in the Heath energy crisis. And the World Cup final with the players fighting after the whistle with police trying to separate them! Tough, happy days.

Used to like Tatters Field at Donny. 2 teams, covered in mud, slogging it out in the fading light. No floodlights, couldn't tell who was who.

On the other side of the coin,as already mentioned, Alt Park. Forever grateful that I didn't live near there.
