That mistake from Lomax killed Saints. Warrington well on top after that. Pretty poor how he tried to blame others too.6 points

The last decade has seen the emergence of two new teams challenging the established top few. Both Hkr and Leigh are huge success stories of the last couple of years and both built from good investment from promotion from championship. Sometimes relegation can help a team rebuild and change business plans and the way clubs approach things, rather than sitting safe in a nothing to play for bottom half sl. We saw the demise of more teams under franchises than new teams and over the last few years there seems to be an emergence of new teams outside of the m62 corridor in the the lower leagues. We spend to much time putting our great sport down when we should be shouting from the rooftops how good it is, yes it has its faults but so does every sport.6 points

Superb from wire really match Saints up front and then picked us apart out wide. As other posters have alluded to Saints lack of pace out wide is killing us both in attack and defence. Saints will have a hell of a job getting the backline something like at the end of this season.5 points

Once again, we see folk confusing a city with an administrative area. The City of Wakefield just includes Wakefield. The City of Wakefield MDC includes Castleford, Featherstone, several other towns and vast tracts of farmland. A city has a Royal Charter saying it's a city. It's not just a big town. St David's is a city. It's not big.5 points

In terms of Yorks ‘star signing’, there’s been one - Thompson. The rest have been a waste of time and money.4 points

Congratulations on the win today, thoroughly deserved. Think this could be a springboard for Batley now. Good luck for the rest of the season4 points

‘Bit of a scrappy one today,’ says Bailey Aldridge on the club’s Roughyeds feed on Instagram. Incidentally, the social media presence of the Roughyeds is unbelievable. The club is working its backside off. Tremendous stuff.4 points

There are no 'rugby league' towns in England, in my view. In every one listed in this thread, I would wager that more people follow football than rugby league.4 points

forgive me crab but who are these they that ruined oldham rlfc. for as far as i can remember it was one man, and one man only who ruined this club. i hope when oldham are at home on sundays and he is sat in his house. with all his widows open he can hear all the cheering4 points

We were totally outplayed today, and even allowing for all our missing players, our defence was embarrassing. How many tries do we concede down our right hand side, why can't this be addressed? Get rid of the defence coach, he obviously isn't doing what he is paid for. It looks like our fan communication system has broken down again. Despite being in our 21 man squad it seems that TNW, and Severs have been recalled by their parent clubs. Did anybody know? And finally, who had the idea of playing blaring music at every break in play, something else that shouldn't be repeated?3 points

Personally I would have Jordy Thompson as Captain, I think Harris’s game has suffered since he was made captain, I would also play Harrison at Full Back, whilst Dagger is out. I don’t really get why we need all these different coaches either, fair enough having an assistant and maybe one of the senior players but to pay money out for the likes of Paul Cooke - no disrespect to him, in the Championship seems like madness to me. I also think the whole Myler thing has had an unsettling effect , from his signing to his apparent defection, along with all the speculation about his ‘father in law’. Time to move on now and turn the ship around.3 points

Same 2nd half as last week. We can't seem to control games. They made way too many yards easily 2nd half and I agree some of them lost the plot. Emslie was very very good and I am afraid Brad Walker very poor again. I think we could do with a lively stand off to speed things up3 points

You were excellent. Beat us up down the middle in the second half too. Well done Warrington. Horrific day with Liverpool losing too.3 points

Well the worse team definitely lost. Here's hoping for a Huddersfield vs Rovers final.3 points

So we threw the ball wide. Honestly one of the best performances from a Warrington team I remember seeing.3 points

A word for the referee. We will never agree with all refereeing decisions but I thought she handled the game well, penalised decisively what she saw and most importantly was consistent for both sides for full 80 minutes.3 points

Had to laugh at the Wakefield fans singing “You’re supposed to be at home” when it was actually them who were supposed to be at home. Best bit of the afternoon tbh. Referee didn’t even fall over or anything decent like at the Toulouse game.3 points

BBC Cumbria team was right beside us in the stand. Pre-game Mokko was worrying about 'Haven's big pack and there Aussie players....their pack did nothing, our 4 lads battered 'em. Only Singleton made a solitary break, the rest golded like a concertina, it was a proper Batley pack performance.3 points

I don’t mind the music but appreciate it is not to everyone’s taste. It was great to see quite a number of the kids in the crowd dancing and singing along at times and it does seem to contribute to the atmosphere.3 points

So they should giving the playing budget and full time against part time, it is hardly a fair contest but they are the cards we are dealt. No doubt next season when you are back in Super league normal service will be resumed and the Trin will be on the end of a few hammerings as last season.3 points

I like George King, but Luckley is really like a fill in just like Nakabuwai is for us - happy to be corrected - Gildart please, I was happy to see him leave us last season, had we had Lutelle fit he wouldn't have got nowhere near the team even accounting for how bad Hardacre is.3 points

I’m liking the looks of Burgess as a coach. He seems pretty level, doesn’t get too high or low and is clearly a great motivator. The biggest plus point for him so far is the way he’s trusting the young players. That has been needed at Wire for donkeys years and he seems to be driving a great culture. It’s not been as flashy as the start to last season but the signs look far more positive in terms of it lasting.2 points

Typically once soccer got a foot in the door in previously rugby strongholds it grew to be the larger game, primarily I feel thanks to its more national spread and profile. The split of the sport of rugby almost certainly didn't help as time went by. Even in the places listed above, few of which have significant soccer teams, there will no doubt be a large proportion of the public who follow a team, be it from a nearby town or, increasingly, from anywhere in the world.2 points

Is it just me, or has the signing of Myler in the first place had a disruptive effect on the Knights team attitude and performance from the start?2 points
