I agree; Inside No.9 has been remarkable for variety as well as quality.

We used to watch that After Dark thing on Channel 4. Although I think we were possibly just waiting for the soft porn labelled ‘red triangle’ films that they had on late at night.

Or so I heard

Ahhh the red Triangle .... I remember the first Saturday they used the Red Triangle for their films.

I had been out drinking and got in around midnight.  I bobbed the telly on and flicked through all 4 channels.  The Channel 4 film had the Red Triangle in the corner of the screen and I thought ‘Wahhhaaayy’.  After about 10 minutes I thought ‘This is one heck of a long lead up to a fruity scene’.  I didn’t realise that the Triangle was always shown throughout the whole film ??

Yes I remember it well,  here's a classic clip of Olly Reed completely out of his skull on the show.

Oliver Reed, superb actor, greatly missed, especially in the Hart near the Brompton, great raconteur,  but dont pick a fight with him. Hilarious guy who love the Workers in the NHS, Friday night his card was always behind the bar for one drink each.

When Reed was in the mood and in the right film, he had a more powerful screen presence than most. I remember Channel 4 showing a (I think) uncut, or largely uncut version of 'The Devils' and he was magnificent.

Last ever Hawaii Five-0 tonight. Didn't realise until it was announced at the beginning. I know it's not great art, but I will miss it. It has been a reliable companion for ten years on Sunday nights.

Increasing cunning ploy on telly of repackaging old programmes , with a new intro ... and then ‘going into the archives’ or ‘ another chance to see ‘ ... or a ‘ new compilation ‘ instead of just calling them repeats

Book publishers have done this for years. Slap a new cover on an old novel, get it placed in a prominent position in the bookshop/supermarket and some buyers think it’s a new book by one of their favourite authors.

I dont think they have many new shows up their sleeves, & will get worse in the autumn, because NOW is when they record those programmes.

One of the most obvious feeble efforts at this is "Paddington - A Year On The Tracks", Just a rehash of previous programs.

This is what I deserve for not checking the Forces TV listings often enough; I just found out they've been showing the science fiction series "V" for the last few months, and I've missed nearly all of it.

You are both right. Was channel hopping the other day and came across an episode of Escape To The Country.  Watched the last ten minutes and then the credits roll and saw it was made in 2002, 18 years ago.  What is the point in showing a program of that type ( ie what you can get for your money etc) that's 18 years old.

Jam Eater  1.(noun. jam eeter) A Resident of Whitehaven or Workington. Offensive.  It is now a term of abuse that both towns of West Cumbria use for each other especially at Workington/Whitehaven rugby league derby matches.

Many,  many years ago (I was still in school) ... the Radio Times put on the front cover "Basil's Back!", along with a huge photo of the Fawlty Towers cast.

Cue *so many* complaints to Points of View that week as all it meant was that the BBC was repeating all of the episodes in sequence for the first time in a while.

Looking at the schedules ITV are really struggling , with repeats and films filling prime time every day . At this rate , by August and September we’ll be getting prime time repeats of Fred Trueman’s indoor league

Ye Gods! Hopefully not...it was woeful! Just re-watched this clip, and noticed Keith Macklin was listed as one of the commentators. He was a good 'un for Rugby League.
