PEPSI

Especially when Manly won the Coca-Cola World Sevens with their Pepsi shirts. :kolobok_biggrin:

More recently, Vodafone have put a lot of money into the game over many years, both in New Zealand and Fiji.

Wigan have announced a partnership with the music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins, which is a great cause but I don't know if it counts as a shirt sponsor.

Oh, and Specsavers sponsoring our officials was quite witty, but has also acted as "evidence" for the game's bitterest tinfoil helmet-wearing bores.

Interesting topic this - as a Rhinos fan I’ve got to say its our current sponsors, we’ve had them since 2007 so that’s 16 years, but are they iconic?

i think the iconic sponsors in a lot of sports were from the 90s when sponsorship became mainstream.

I think the Tetley's in a Rugby Ball and Leeds Building Society (in a yellow block) must be consided as classics for Leeds, just by virtue of success in them and long standing value.

Other than that, Carling also has the classic value and "Youngers" iirc too.

ICI on Widnes’ jersey is the first one that came to mind, iconic.

So many nationally well known sponsors in the past, and so few now.

Hoover and Typhoo are decent recent ones.  I think of Sainsbury's as Trinity's stand out SL sponsor. Someone else as mentioned British Coal.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

The first-ever British RL shirt sponsors, LinPac, are still Featherstone's main jersey sponsor albeit under their current name of KP.

This is genuinely not a troll...

Having a firm with the image of 'Cash Convertors' for our 4 time champions

The most visible team in all the newspaper shots are Roby lifting the trophy wearing that companies logo

I don't care what they are paying.....that is reputational damage for the sport ....potentially big damage

And before anyone kicks in I am not a snob....the perception is there whether it is right or wrong

Did you not read my post with the link Tommy?

I don't subscribe to the Times H, but I still don't see why that counters what I put?
