Odsal - RFL Selling the lease

That should in theory mean a better price could be extracted on a sale. It’s obviously a big site with good motorway access.

Perhaps the RFL need to consider re-investing any proceeds in another ground that Bradford could also lease from them.

I very much hope this is a process in which there is openess about who purchases and why. The last thing the game needs now is any suggestion that deals have been done for less than fair value with connected individuals.

What proceeds? They've already stated that they don't expect to get back what they 'paid' for it, and even if they did ca£1m ain't going to go far......

Don’t let the RFL off so lightly. Next thing we’ll be being told it’s gone for a quid and it’s a good deal because they don’t need to worry about it again.

If it finishes up staying as an RL ground it should be named The Super Bowel.

Just wondering if anyone has heard any updates about interested parties in the purchase of the Odsal hole

Closing deadline isn't until the 31st so expect nothing will be announced before then.

You don’t say. I suppose a bigger surprise if they didn’t express interest but we’ll now start to see how closer joined the dots are?

"Bartercard enables businesses to exchange goods and services without using cash or cash equivalents or a direct swap."

There's an irony in here somewhere...

Who is behind Bartercard? They've been pumping money into Rugby League worldwide for decades now.

Had deals with a number of different clubs, the deals always seem to end the same way with the clubs not really benefitting from them.

Hemel Stags signed up to Bartercard many years ago. It's  an interesting concept with VAT implications. After a couple of years we realised we were paying Bartercard more in their fees than we could recoup through 'bartering' so we were quite happy when we terminated the agreement.

It's probably heading on for 20 years now, but, as rather infamously noted at the time, their shirt sponsorship of the Broncos yielded BarterCard two years of decent visibility on Sky, and the Broncos about enough money to cover a team trip to Pizza Hut.

It still remains a scandal that this deal appears to have been brushed under a carpet somewhere. We need a campaigning journalist to dig deep on it. All that money that could have been used for good, wasted on a landfill site.

Guaranteed to lose at least £500,000 on any sale, not that one is coming, losing over £100,000 just on maintenance and upkeep, and charging the Bulls an under market rate rent.
