Maybe they should organise more games then if they want squad rotation of any kind.

Surely the mid-season test against France (with the NRL players not around) was when he tried out other squad members.

It was only two years ago when England thrashed Samoa in the first game and then lost in the second against them. Learn the lesson from that and don't take victory for granted. Get the series won with the best team available.

Totally agree, game 2 isn’t the time to ‘give everyone a game’.

Yeah seems a bit daft when there's only 2 games. Maybe it's a bit of poetic license from the journalist. I certainly don't see the point of playing the likes of Hill.

No, I can understand Nsemba, Thompson and maybe Walker, but there should be no messing around for the sake of it.

Didn't we used to have an England Knights team?

Is Morgan Smithies injured?

Don't think so. He's in a similar position to a few English loose forwards now and that's behind our best option in Victor Radley. It's a shame one or two of them weren't a few inches taller and a couple of stone heavier and able to play at prop.

Morgan Smithies is actually bigger than Luke Thompson.

Yeah suppose, would still like to see him play in at second row or something

Slightly taller maybe but he's some specimen Thompson and the one thing he has over Smithies is that explosive power. If one of Smithies, Knowles or Minchella had that same sort of punch, you could use them at prop.

Good news that we have another sponsor on board. Bad news is no link to the sponsor website and no sign of the flasks in the picture anywhere.

I saw one of these flasks (with an England logo) at the England France game on Saturday, one of the England coaching team had it. Don't appear to be available on the website, so it was maybe a short run for promotional purposes. Discount code is working though.

I've had a reply from thermos (took a while) to say that that the flasks in the photo were made just for the team/staff and not for sale, although they have had quite a lot of interest in them. Also that the discount code is now working, but not tried it yet.

Great to see:

That is awesome. Now what was someone saying about banning it?

What would be great is seeing the match previewed on BBC Breakfast Friday morning with this being shown every half hour in the sports roundup.

It's this kind of stuff where we continually miss a trick. They are pretty cool and handy to have, I have several of these kinds of flasks and would certainly get this one if I could. It's also a walking advertisement for the England.

I miss Scubby. Someone needs to stand up for England's ceramic mug collection, or lack of it.

1656 standing tickets remaining. They are shifting about 300 a day currently.

There's no way they've sold 3,500 tickets for the Western Terrace (current availability is 442). We can reasonably assume that all the spots in the Eastern and South terraces are/have been on sale but I'd guess they've only made 1,000 or less of the 4,000 capacity of the West available. So I think you can safely add 3,000 to the available tickets which would make ticket sales around 15,000 to 15,500.

That does feel like a number that should be triggering the 'limited availability, heading for sellout' type promotion.

It always makes me worry that there are maybe another 3k unused from partners etc.

Trying to drive interest doesn't seem a major concern for those in charge. The crowd for the Grand Final was 68,000, which would make you think you'd see some tweets saying '65,000 sold, 66,000 sold' or whatever but it seems they don't have the 30 seconds spare to go to the hassle of it all.

I'd agree with an above post that you'd be surprised if the Western Terrace is as close to a total sell out as the ticket maps suggests. I'm more than happy being under the roof of the South Stand terrace and I'm not sure the habit of going on the Western terrace will have driven enough people in to that stand.,
