That does feel like a number that should be triggering the 'limited availability, heading for sellout' type promotion.

It always makes me worry that there are maybe another 3k unused from partners etc.

There's no way they've sold 3,500 tickets for the Western Terrace (current availability is 442). We can reasonably assume that all the spots in the Eastern and South terraces are/have been on sale but I'd guess they've only made 1,000 or less of the 4,000 capacity of the West available. So I think you can safely add 3,000 to the available tickets which would make ticket sales around 15,000 to 15,500.

You'd know more than me when it comes to Headingley sales but I'd be amazed if we haven't sold more than that after Saturday.

I miss Scubby. Someone needs to stand up for England's ceramic mug collection, or lack of it.

He wasn't wrong though was he? That was all years ago and absolutely nothing has improved on this front. The RFL continually bleat about revenue and income but continually fail to go about improving it.

It's this kind of stuff where we continually miss a trick. They are pretty cool and handy to have, I have several of these kinds of flasks and would certainly get this one if I could. It's also a walking advertisement for the England.

I think I would have got one with the England logo on, although with modern ground regulations taking a flask is a bit of a gamble, as you might be told you can't take it in.

I think saying how many tickets are left can work, but also limited availability/nearly sold out can also put people off as they think its only the rubbish seats left. The amount of whinging about the Western terrace you see, its probably not a good idea to highlight that area, but they could publicise space in the other areas to drive sales.

I use them for work, traveling and watching my kids play sport. I wouldn't contemplate taking one to a professional sports ground, that seems like way too much hassle.

I'm not sure, I think Samoa - and England in some ways - are still a relatively hard sell. I think they'll end up with 16,000 to 17,000.

Branded Thermos®️ flasks vs professional digital marketing campaign?  I know where I'd put my effort.

It's really not much effort to do both though is it?

I know you know this but ... you can literally work with a supplier, select a handful of items, work up the design based on pre existing logo and colours, set up a digital storefront, have a handful for on sale at grounds, and then work on produce on demand.

You could do it in a morning. It's the definition of passive income in many ways.

Trying to drive interest doesn't seem a major concern for those in charge. The crowd for the Grand Final was 68,000, which would make you think you'd see some tweets saying '65,000 sold, 66,000 sold' or whatever but it seems they don't have the 30 seconds spare to go to the hassle of it all.

I'd agree with an above post that you'd be surprised if the Western Terrace is as close to a total sell out as the ticket maps suggests. I'm more than happy being under the roof of the South Stand terrace and I'm not sure the habit of going on the Western terrace will have driven enough people in to that stand.,

I think the good thing is that all areas seem well enough populated to give off a good vibe on tv and even better for those there.

enjoyed this, had it shared to me by lots of non-league fans as well - a great way of promoting the game.

Only 854 tickets (plus hospitality) now on sale for Saturday.

It'll be interesting to see if more (held back ones) become available as that number decreases.

There was plenty of hospitality availability in the Howard Suite i.e. North Stand sections D and E) on this link when I looked the other day (you could put dozens of seats in your basket):

https://leedsrhinoshospitality.seatunique.com/sport-tickets/rugby-league/leeds-rhinos-tickets/5d90c3c8#8d5ad719

They appear to have gone off sale now. I wonder if they will make those seats available via the regular ticket website (stripped of the corporate bit)?

Does anyone know if the Wilson's pie van will be there or if it's only for Rhinos' games?

Now THESE are the sort of questions that need answering in order to drive this game forward……

I can report that all but one variety of pie had sold out in the South Stand at Wigan by kick-off last weekend, so best to check in advance.

Do they sell chicken balti pies? I like them very much.

Quite depressing was the BBC bragging about the 15 live Superleague games they will cover next season, the same as this year.

This means a few matches at the start of the season, then a massive gap to near the end when everyone has forgot they are showing live games, and with virtually no publicity.

The Samoa series had an average of 15603 (total 31205) which is a bit better than the Tonga series which had an average crowd of 13195 (total 39585) but after the mistakes of last year, I'm not sure much was learnt the way this series was organised.
