Are my eyes deceiving me or are the two badges on the chest not even in line with each other? It looks like the world cup one is higher than the England badge.

A pretty standard rugby league shirt, really. Looks alright. Hardly “daringly different” but a nice enough looking  shirt.

Its the first time I have been actually open mouthed with nothing to say for a long time!

That is not an England shirt. I get the fact that it doesnt have to be the colours of the flag (aus and NZ etc) etc but it just doesn't look right for an England team, there needs some red in it IMHO. I get they want something that can be Iconic and thats fine and it doesnt have to be the same as all other sports (Aus change the dominant colour depending on the sport etc, NZ have the all whites football instead of the all blacks) but it just doesnt feel right.

I just think it’s ok, was expecting worse. I’d have preferred to see more red and less blue on it though.

I'm not offended by it, but in the same breath I'm not immediately inspired to go out and buy one. On balance I think I prefer it to the cross, but I can't see it going down as an all-time classic design that will be the basis for future designs. To be honest, I'm just relieved that they haven't just adopted the GB shirt, which would have been criminal IMO.

Argh knew it was going to go this way. It's just another kneejerk movement into a another direction that will be quietly dropped in a years time. It's not even an objectively bad shirt, it's fine, it's just so inconsistent with what's come before. 

Just decide what an England shirt looks like, decide on a fairly classic design and combination of colours and then don't change it... ever. You can do variations on it, modern, traditional etc. by all means but keep the outline design the same. 

The England shirt is always something defined by what it isn't rather than what it is. It can't be red and white hoops because Wigan, it can't be a rev vee because Saints, it can't be a blue and red vee because GB.

I've said on here previously the most logical thing to do would be to return to the thin hoops of the original Northern Union shirt, probably swapping the yellow out for blue (to more match a typical England sporting team colour scheme and also a nod to the Lancashire and Yorkshire origins of the game). Then you've got something with a historical link back, that you can do lots of variations of, that other RL teams haven't made untouchable.

Even England’s football team only (occasionally) has navy shorts because it was the Football Associations colours in the kit, rather than the nations. Our administrators are idiots. Mind you, much like “Dog Bites Man” I guess that’s hardly newsworthy eh.
