Just had a quick look at play off attendances over the last decade.

Last year's Wigan v Hull KR crowd of 15,162 was the highest for 8 years and you had to go back to 2015 and 17,192 for Leeds v Saints to beat it. There was also 15,023 for Wigan v Warrington in 2014. Apart from those it's all circa 13k crowds and below.

I think Wigan v Leigh will beat those two 15k crowds and with a fair wind can beat that 17,192 crowd too.

Over 17,000 would be amazing, and I could see that as a possibility 10 years ago.   Whether enough people could stretch their budgets in the current economic climate today, for that 17k, is a big ask after a long season.   Let's hope so though.

Leigh tickets haven't even gone on sale yet so I'd say there is a decent chance. How much does the away end hold?

It's about 5k give or take buy I'm sure more seats could be made available in the East too.

Hull's average crowd for the season was reported as 11 281 in the Hull Daily Mail, which is a good bit higher than reported on that link. Hull had sold over 7000 season tickets pre-season, so a crowd of 5000 suggests stayaways missing the best performance of the season. OTOH, Wigan's website includes the 5000ish figure and it seems to have been picked up by other media sources too.

It was reported wrongly at the time. It was announced as 9700 in the ground, but reported as 5700 in the press.

Would expect probably just a touch over 5,000 Leigh fans - enough to fill the North Stand and also have a bit of overflow in the East or West.

17,000 should be a doddle

Three of us (two Leigh, one Wigan) going to the Bolton v Shrewsbury game then dashing across

Warrington attendance was 12,111 according to the Warrington Guardian match report.

That's not bad at all and feels right. About 100 more than when we played them in the league a few weeks back. The South Stand was very tightly packed.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

If Wigan have sold 10k and Leigh’s only go on sale Monday the 17k will be smashed

York have announced an attendance for the first time this year, for some reason?

2,450 vs Fev yesterday

Looked a decent turn out from Fev on the highlights.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.

Seems trinity have around 5,200 average attendance in Championship this season.

Many games with barely a handful of away support.

It’s a good base to build from and of in SL I’d expect between 6-6.5k which would continue to see the club rise.

Hopefully Trinity for Semi and final (hopefully) can get close to or sell out.

With season ticket holders, young and old, having to pay for entry to the play off games the chances of sell outs are slim. imho

Next years home crowds will be determined to a large extent by whether or not we are in Super League, obviously, and whatever the 2025 pricing structure will be. I don't expect the club to repeat this season's bargain basement offers and freebies.

The current economic climate has little to do with it, football crowds in the North West (and everywhere else) are booming, and they’re not all wealthy people.

But there’s more of them than us.

Yes but if Wigan athletic had a big game nobody would blame a poor crowd on the current economic climate.

No, they’d just say it was like any other home game.
