What’s the capacity at Salford?

12000 but only got a safety certificate for 11404.

Thanks. 11000 at Salford would be a great crowd. It feels like an event

I hope so, they deserve a big crowd with the season they have had.

Think both play off games this weekend are going to be a watch

Great news for Salford. Now the big challenge is to convert some of these glory hunters into regular fans / season ticket holders.

I thought that might happen after their GF against Saints, there were thousands of Salford fans there. Still they are definitely a club on the up, and even if 500 of them go back regularly it would be a boost.

SL figures for the regular season were down ever so slightly compared to last year. Considering London replacing Wakey and Magic Weekend reduction, not too bad.

It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course.

It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

Problem with that was that the GF in 2019 was followed by the Covid year of 2020.

That's an odd interaction. The Matt Shaw article states that club sources say that tickets are limited, then one bloke has a quick look on the ticket site and decides they're not.

I suspect we are looking at the 11-12k mark. Probably well short of a sellout but we haven't got near one of those for years.

I think it may be lower than that, but it's always difficult to tell at Wire. The plan shows plenty empty seats, but we are still 3 days away.

Leigh sold well over 4000, so anything around 6-6500 fans from Salford would be brilliant.

Only a few hundred tickets left based on the slightly reduced capacity mentioned by Fev Rover, so 11k is a definite possibility.

Might be near to 4,000 if you include those who bought through Salford (and are generous with how many haven’t cancelled), but the allocation at Leigh wasn’t anywhere near that so certainly not sold as many as that.

Uh? Who rattled your cage?

No one, but whenever some news involves Salford that may be wrong it seems to rattle your cage quite well.

Surely that lowest attendance for Hull v Wigan can't be correct?

definitely not correct

Or it might be the only one that is correct. Hull have been playing in front of plenty of crowds where the lower bowl is a quarter full.

Just making an observation, Click. Maybe I should get you to approve any of my posts before posting them.

Hull's average crowd for the season was reported as 11 281 in the Hull Daily Mail, which is a good bit higher than reported on that link. Hull had sold over 7000 season tickets pre-season, so a crowd of 5000 suggests stayaways missing the best performance of the season. OTOH, Wigan's website includes the 5000ish figure and it seems to have been picked up by other media sources too.

Salford tickets are going FAST, there were huge blocks of seats still available on the map this morning and now they’re almost all gone. I think this is going to sell out!

Looks like it will be Salford's  biggest crowd for some years, bigger than the last game at The Willows.

Wigan at home in 2023 sold out if I remember correctly. Although I don't blame you for trying to erase anything from the daryl Powell era from your mind!

Wigan's crowds this year have been really good, fair play to them for taking the best supported team title off Leeds.

They seem to have had success with getting better crowds to some of the less attractive games this year, which is good going. That said almost all the delta vs Leeds comes from the crowds they got for games against the other big clubs, obviously Saints (+5k vs Leeds' equivalent home attendance) but also vs Warrington and vs Leeds (+3.5k compared to Leeds-Warrington and +2.7k compared to Leeds-Wigan).
