This has the potential to be a superb game and a close run thing. Am very much looking forward to it. I think Samoa will be under done, but they have a lot of talent… we owe them one for the heartbreak they caused us.

Looking forward to seeing England play as usual. Haven't really got a clue on how we'll go, I'd like to think we win both tests with home advantage and a stronger squad imo.

I think England will win reasonably comfortably by about 12-16 points. The off the field stuff being so poor probably masks the fact I think we've got a pretty good side together and we've got too much in the spine positions IMO.

Samoa to win.

32-24

No chance Samoa will score 32 against what will be a well organised and energetic England defence.

I think England will keep them to two scores max and get a few points on the board in the second half.

26-10 or thereabouts for me.

Samoa to win by 6, no Yorkshire...so not interested in the outcome.

At least 7 Yorkshire born players and I have not researched some of the others so what you saying.

England by 10 - maybe 26-16.

Samoa have quality but lack combinations to break down england defence. Plus we have plenty of quality ourself!

It would be nice to focus this thread on the match - we have a 96 page thread for the other stuff.

England to win pretty comfortably but Samoa close enough for the next Test to be interesting.

Birthplaces according to Wikipedia

Bateman - Bradford

Burgess - Dewsbury

Clark - Castleford

Lewis - Hull

Newman - Huddersfield

Young - Dewsbury

Clubs

Burgess - Huddersfield

Lewis- Hull KR

Newman - Leeds

So not only that a silly reason not to support a team, it has no basis in reality by any definition.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

It's just performative nonsense isn't it.

You are certainly a great example of doing what it says on the tin 😂

I agree, I fear the broadcast of this game will only serve to further perpetuate how low key RL is.

England need to look for as close to an 80 minute performance as possible, look to cut out all those usual lapses in concentration and in and out performances we get. Noted in the build up a few players talking about how they played poorly in our last game against Samoa, lets see an improvement.

The revenge narrative is in the marketing that was on all the northern rail screens I saw on my trip to Robin Park Leisure centre's tennis courts, but for me the narrative should be about climbing back up the rankings. We beat the 5th best team, now we need to beat the 4th best team, bigger battles are ahead, and this is all the prep we can get.

I'm looking forward to it - especially seeing the English NRL players. I haven't seen Dom Young play since the World Cup, so I'm very keen to see how he performs.

Same will be true for Leeds regards how it comes across crowd wise

The South Stand will look great.....of course the cameras will be facing the half empty North Stand as usual

Bur it's ok....don't panic

Leeds/RFL will have had the option to not sell/sell those seats to corporate so that makes it ok

Who cares what our biggest showpiece match of the year nationally looks like on the biggest National tv stage.... Gary Hetherengton / RFL have literally hundreds of pounds at stake so it's important they have the option to keep those seats under the cameras empty

Yes, there is plenty to look forward to.

As you say, Young back in an England shirt... and Farnworth of course.

Young, Newman, Farnworth and Ashton is a very exciting backline for what looks like it will be a dry track.

Without a second 9 selected, is Wane going with Lewis on the bench, if so that's an attacking decision to get him on against the big Samoans late in esxh half.

The of course the battle of the forwards, how will Junior Nsemba go againt the big Samoan edge forwards and then KPP after a year in the NRL (I hope it is those two).  And how will the middles stack up.

Can't wait.

Yes I am looking forward to seeing if KPP looks any different after his gap year ...

Newman to get a brace and man of the match

England by 12
