Saintslass
Snowing here in Sintellins. Enough of a snowfall to make the drive home this evening a 2nd gear only experience, with some very tentative slidy turns!

Saintslass
Seems to be thawing here in St Helens now. We had a decent covering. Enough to cause genuine concern on the roads (those slides and stuff confirmed it!) and to build a snowman/have a snowball fight (I know, I tested it!). But alas, it is now turning to mush. l'angelo mysterioso
What a gorgeous day the ground was hard and the frost was crisp, with the sun making everything gleam, with adjusting of snow on the fields. Saintslass
After the promising snowfall of last night there was a slight thaw and the remainder froze overnight and then all we had in Sintellins today was persistent bloody rain. Gee has it rained! Finally stopped late afternoon and there is still snow on the grass areas. There may well be another freeze tonight in which case tomorrow morning will see pavements like ice rinks.

My brother and his family set off from Hull to Sheffield at about 11pm yesterday. They hit the snow at Goole and by the time they got to Sheffield it was so bad they couldn't get up the hill to their street so had to leave the car and walk. He's rung today to say they'd had about seven inches of snow. Not even had a snowflake here. "Coming from East Hull people automatically think you should go and play for Hull KR. In general, always avoid Hull and Goole. The Unicorn is not a Goose,

Wolford6
6 hours to get back to Bradford from South Wales. Usually takes four. My son made the mistake of going by rail to London for Christmas. 11 of them are stuck at Finsbury Park with no train coming back tonight.
