A couple of observations from me. One. He is first class A, top line knob and we have to discourage people like that coming on the pitch. Taking the soft approach with pitch intruders only emboldens more class A knobs. Two, Kerr got booked for it which is weird as that was essentially outside of the scope of the game I would have thought. Because the actual legal law around pitch invasion is so old it doesn't actually list women's sport as something it is possible to invade. The plank on the pitch was, I think, charged with something else but couldn't face the same punishments as someone who, for example, invaded a Chelsea men's match. And I agree with your first point. It's essentially zero tolerance unless it's a celebration of (say) winning the league and, even then, for safety you'd want opposition players and any home players who didn't want to be involved out of the way. Clearly, this is outside the UK and I'm not sure of the laws there, but inside the UK (afaik) it's only illegal at a designated (association) football match, I.e. not applicable to RL. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1991/19/contents

You can't just let people break rules as they please - how do you know she didn't have a knife to attack a player.... StandOffHalf
Nice to see a fuller woman. Would have been nice if she'd taken off a bit more. It might have been a bit dangerous to go further with NRL footballers all around.

There has been at least three I know of in a few weeks. The pitch invader at the Raiders game the other night was the fastest pitch invader I’ve ever seen. He sprinted diagonally across the field, jumped the boundary fence, sprinted up the corner ramp and out of the stadium. The security guards around the pitch ignored him. If women want equality then it is equality across the board. Imagine the furore from some of the feminists if the Steward had gently held the streakers hand and said ‘Come on love, let me escort to you the sideline’. Then the next day the club give the streaker a lovely bunch of flowers for any upset caused.

Tex Evans Thigh
Play on for me that. On a serious note, she invaded the pitch, she took that risk knowing it's not allowed. He may have 'tackled' her hard but it wasnt particularly dangerous, he didnt drop her on her head or punch/kick her. She ran at him straight and he took her down. She even said she was sore but no regrets. Move on, good stewarding and a warning to other morons who are desperate for twitter likes. Why would any security guard attempt to tackle or take down a pitch invader now? This guy has being vilified for doing his job and it’s a possibility he could be disciplined or lose his job. Security/stewards are best just to stand back and watch, leave the pitch invaders to do as they please, and keep themselves and their jobs safe. I think this is the crux, we've always had pitch invaders but the advent of social media and especially newer versions (Tiktok) could see a big increase in this type of thing trying to get 5 minutes of infamy. Then there is obviously the protest angle, and how it can be seen as a decent tactic to get attention for their cause. We've seen flares on the pitch, attaching themselves to lamp posts, how long before someone decides to attach themselves to a player? The relative innocence of a streaker etc might be over as stewards won't be able to presume that this is what they're doing. A Widnesian in Ireland blog What is the best system for Super League? Josef K
I see at some football matches a few fans have been running onto the pitch, is it a fine over here for doing that and a ban. Or is it up to each individual club. What happened to the lad who went on the pitch at the Leigh/Widnes match ?.
