Squads -

https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/england-v-france-rugby-league-how-to-watch-channel

I think it will come down to how much passion France show

They have enough quality and hopefully a vocal home support.

If they can hit the line like they mean it thier pack can mix it with England and then who knows

Like all of us I want a close game and I'm hopeful we will get one

  • Bedfordshire Bronco changed the title to Sat 29th July: France Vs England. Stade Ernest-Wallon 17:00 BST (SL+)

I really hope France can make a real go of it. Northern hemisphere RL will not grow without a competitive international scene of at least 3 rival nations who are all capable of beating each other on their day.

36 degrees in Toulouse at the moment,

It's getting more and more lined up for the French ...

Most of their best players available

It's in France

Excessive heat that most of the French team are more used to

England's coach missing

England don't have their NRL stars

Surely they can at least match what they did in 2021 (10-30 and the French won the vast majority of the second half)

I'm going for England by 2 scores only

Obviously some things can't be helped, but that is very unfortunate timing.

I suppose he had to have the operation at some point and, with the England schedule being so packed, it was always going to clash with something.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

If time has taught me anything, it is to never get my hopes up regarding the French RL team.

Have they arranged the postponed fixture between Wigan & Leigh yet? You'd have thought they'd have tried to do it for this weekend considering there are no other free weekends!

Could have made it a triple header... 👀

Just goes to show how much is needed to level the playing field.

It's on Tuesday 6th August. As much as this England game has zero publicity and isn't even being shown on TV, I am glad they didn't devalue it even further by having a Superleague game on the same weekend.

As for the England game, I hope the French give it a real crack. It would add some much needed value to the fixture if they do. I'm looking forward to seeing how a few of the French lads get on, as well as seeing how some of our younger lads, like O'Neill, Nicholson, Wilson and Delaney go (not sure if the last two are on the bench or not going off the squad).

And that's the key point here

How much desire to run hard, chase hard, scramble hard ???

The match at Headingly was a perfect example that ours is an effort based game.....that Leeds team hasn't defended like that since the Wigan semi final play off......they didn't suddenly become better players....they just tried harder .....they were prepared to bust their lungs out to stop Leigh getting over that line

The only time in recent years The French seemed to have done it was the first half hour of the 2021 game and they 'won' that half hour

There is no contract, trophy or money being played for ......can the garçons get up enough steam to really care

I suspect if they can keep a clean sheet for 20 minutes and even sneak a lead at the start that might trigger something

If they go 2 down within 15 minutes I fear certain players.will.jist drop off into injury prevention mode

Genuine question....

How many players are Catalan-ese???

Does that affect the passion of playing internationally for France?

Would a 'Catalan' team have more oomph?

Not saying do it just speculating

The TV folk probably think it's on 29th July, as advertised by Bedfordshire.

I was told in strict confidence that Sean told the whole of the England staff that he would definitely get his round in at the bar on the next international fixture.

Here in Toulouse now.

Have had a good chat with a couple of the French boys De Costa and Pascal Fages and they are really fired up for it and think they definitely have a chance of winning tonight.

Good fun spirit in the French camp who seem to be really enjoying themselves.

They even invited AMO my dog to take part in the official team photo at the hotel last night.

It's on my LinkedIn and rugbyleague.com:))

I have a feeling,as a contest it will all be over by half time. I hope this is not the case but the French need England to have a massive off day to get anywhere near them.
