The available space is what it is, but can somebody explain to me why Old Trafford doesn't deal with its limitations by marking out a shorter pitch between the dead ball lines, as for example Castleford do, rather than materially impact the key scoring zone like this...?

I'm guessing it's related to the position of the sockets for the goalposts.

Interesting, that would make sense. But they managed to solve it when England rugby union played there (below) so they could fix it if they needed to.

If United really do want Old TraffordĀ to be the "WembleyĀ of the North", as Jim Ratcliffe has said, then it'll need to be a proper multisport stadium in more contexts than this.Ā

It's Wigan for me. Although I'd love KR to do it just for a change. I can't honestly see it though.

Completely agree.

At least it ended on a positive note.

Bit of a random one:

Does anyone know of any times the game is scheduled to be replayed on Skysports ?Ā

I live in Sydney and don't fancy waking up at 4am for it. Hopefully there would be a full replay on one of the skysports channels later on that evening?Ā

I'm in a can't lose position today.

I am a Wigan fan put not as passionate as I was, and consider myself more a fan of the sport as a whole.

So a Wigan win will be good personally, but KR win will be good for the sport (and I've always had a real soft spot for KR since the Gavin Miller days).

Hoping for a great game and a great occasion to cap off an entertaining season and play off's.

It canā€™t be that as football goals are 5ft + wider than rugby posts so they donā€™t use the same holes. My guess would be united donā€™t want a second goal line adding. Ā

If you were playing in 4,000 mile an hour winds, I reckon you would play with the wind in the first half if you won the toss.

It seems to rain on most grand finals . Prediction not from me ,but I'm really excited about this one because Hull KR are a first timer with a real chance of winning . First twenty minutes ,first half even will tell us a lotĀ

Ā Soon we will be dancing the fandango

Got a fiver on Wigan. Sadly I think the occasion will get to HKR. If I'm wrong, good for the wider game.Ā

Iā€™ve got a feeling HKR could surprise Wigan here theyā€™ve been through the process before having lost the challenge cup final to Leigh. Wigan may still be too good for them but I donā€™t think KR will blow it. HKR are ready for this they can match Wigan in the grind weā€™ve seen that and they shouldā€™ve learnt their lesson on discipline after the last game. Also old Trafford size lessons the threat of Field and French slightly I really think this could be a cracker.Ā
