  1. Wonder why the sport is having trouble with numbers of match officials available.

  2. It's almost as if years and years of fans hurling abuse and calling into question the integrity of referees wasn't a good way of enticing people into the roles.

  3. Just got back in from the game and must say it was a very entertaining and hard fought encounter. Town eventually went down 22-32 against opposition from the League above them but should take pride in how they never gave up until the final whistle and served up some quality tries for the crowd.Number 16 ( I think Nicole Stewart ) had a fantastic game in both attack and defence and was easily the best player on either side today and I would honestly say if you have the time available make your way down to Derwent Park and give these lasses your backing and at only £5 admission it was worth every penny.

  5. I don't know quite where York pulled that performance from (given their recent form), but their victory over Bradford was well deserved, and a soft try let in at the death made the result look closer for the Bulls than it actually was. Great day of rugby in the sunshine at York, with the women's match against Saints going down to the wire beforehand. If you could have added Batley's catering and beer, it would have been just about the perfect day out

  7. Absolute legend and a true professional, always well spoken and extremely positive in everything he says, his on field attributes speak for themselves. Will miss the way carrys out of his own half more effectively than any of our props, its been a pleasure to see him in red and white these last few years. As for Rovers we are apparently replacing Hall with Davis which is a great bit of business and certainly improves our speed. Been a Rovers fan it seems strange a truly world class player coming to the end of his career is leaving us for a last payday rather than the other way around, maybe a sign of how far we have come as a club (and maybe where Leeds are now as a club).

  8. As usual Rhinos fans in meltdown over this, if its a one year playing deal with a transition into a backroom job then it’s a good bit of business. We have dome good young outside backs coming through who just aren’t quite ready yet, Hall will be a good mentor. Everyone seems to be saying just play the kids, whilst ignoring the fact that we currently have a young player playing on the wing who gets all manner of stick every game.

  9. A credit to the whole sport and good to see that he won't be lost to it. In my view, far too many are lost owing to limited opportunities. Marks out one difference between union and League....there seems to be more opportunities open to ex union players in union than to ex league players in league. "As I come towards the end of my career, I’ve got to think about my next career steps and what’s best for me and my family".

  12. Just got back and that was a good win. Our forwards haven't always dominated thus year but it looked like the plan was to take them on in a forward battle, especially after Brad went off early on. Looks like we'll need a winger for next week. Chris played most of the game with a dead leg. Few players got into the first half because Scholey n Tomposh were destroying them up the middle. Reid had his best game in a Town shirt and the Budsey break was class. Nice to watch a game that wasn't ruined by the ref. Who was it?

  13. Maybe the officials find it amusing that fans are shouting for a forward pass when the ball wasn't even passed. Find it embarrassing standing on the popular side listening to the abuse people are shouting to the officials. Difference is officials are impartial and fans are not. Barrows performances have been poor so far got lucky last week and lack ideas. No line speed in defence and concide far to many yards every set.

  14. Brilliant performance, Harrison absolutely rock steady at full back, Pemberton played the best since he signed, Tommo, well Tommo was Tommo enough said , Harris outstanding, Keinhorst top notch, I could go on, if we had played like that in the opening games we would have come away with more wins, even the mighty Trin might have been kept in check, the discipline today was far better even on the back of some very ordinary refereeing. It obviously meant a great deal to the guys out there too, great to see and against Bradford too, it doesn’t get much better than that.

  15. Decent performance from Toulouse though the 36 points difference is a bit flattering. Haven played well, created loads but couldn’t finish. An entertaining encounter with both sides throwing the ball around. Ref did well with only a handful of penalties. Tough for Haven coach Jonty Gorley who is having to work with the bare bones of a squad so credit to him. Top travelling support who enjoyed the fun in the sun, just a pity their boys couldn’t have converted more of their chances. Some good performances from the home side. Stand off Ryan Rivett looks like he’s settling in at this level and Anthony Marion was top notch. Good debut for Mac Walsh at centre. Veteran Dom Peyroux looked like a spring chicken.

  16. Sorry but people need to get over tee, theirs no conspiracy,no shafting,as in many many cases a SL club has cherry picked out the championship, paid a fairly hefty fee, I don't get the xfiles syndrome people have,he's a saints player, their DR with Swinton , and I'm going to be controversial maybe here but even if he came back theirs no guarantee he'd score shed loads as for me alot of his success was massively helped by having miloudi inside him ,who's of course at London, stop babbling about it and back those in the wing jerseys, all about the now,not the then

  17. I attended so I will try my best to give my honest opinion. Neither team will win any awards for defending. The referee did not influence the game either way. 50 points flattered Swinton although they were worthy winners. Quite a few try’s conceded came from our own mistakes and failure to retain the ball. Now to the deciding factors. Swinton had more heart than most of our players. They ran harder and believed in themselves more. Some of our players are simply not fit enough and they are not Championship standard players. We possess an odd few who are and my lord Reverend do I feel sorry for them. We have players who are taking a wage and doing hardly any minutes whilst others are slogging their guts out for the full eighty. For any observer who possesses an ounce of knowledge it is quickly becoming a shino show. We need reinforcements and we need them quick.

  19. We were bloody awful today. Whoever got to pick the 'Champagne Moment' weren't exactly spoiled for choice. Are they allowed to ask for a rollover? That's what the team did.

  20. Excelent result against Hunslet away, I still think scholey&tomposh are small for props, but they certainly make up for it in their effort in downing other bigger props. Well done both..

  21. Well done york before the game today had this as a loss something about playing York always gives us worst game of season. take nothing away from York don’t think tufua took one kick all game. John Davies probably had the worst game in his rugby league career it’s somehow worked but we now need two halves on a fast track like today everything was slow motion from us. has for the refs fault can he knock on all game? He had no say in the score line at all

  22. I got ready to be miserable with seven minutes to go. That's what the championship rugby is about. Good fightback by good opposition and an exciting finish for the home crowd. Well done both sets of players especially Wynne who played well. It was baffling when Widnes were held up over our line on the last tackle but were given more tackles to score. There didn't seem to be a wipe out by the ref. Enjoyable when you win but Widnes played well.

  23. Great to come on here and applaud the efforts of the players who were absolutely brilliant all afternoon, thought our pack really took it to the Bradford forwards and never took a backward step and great to see Myles Harrison playing in his proper position where he looks more at home .Hope the injury to Gannon isn't to serious as he looks like a player who could do us a great job this season on what i have seen so far.

  24. Well a wins a win. A tale of 2 half's as they say. Tbh we got away with that bashing Batley down the middle. Think on the end full-time fitness showed. Well played Batley. A cracking day out.

  27. Which would certainly result in a 5 match ban due to an unnatural body position and unnecessary forceful contact.

  28. When people can saying WotR "failed", what measure are we using here? Crowd-wise, it did ok with very little promotion. The result wasn't predictable. It gave lots of players a run-out in a rep environment. It produced some great merchandise (I'm literally sat with my Yorkshire shirt on from 2003). Currently, any mid-season international ends up either being predictable, doesn't bring in the best players available, or has such a poor turnout that it damages international RL's credibility. Either do it properly, or if you can't then do something else. We can't, so do something else until we can. (At least we're finally playing the mid-season game in France).

  30. I was shot down in flames when I suggested it was a defensive structure problem not an individual's problem on Facebook. Interesting how we seem to be conceding the same sort of tries with different personnel in place. We've defended narrowly for at least the last 2 seasons and seem to concede a lot out wide.

  31. Agreed KTF I didn't think they are owt special, a full time outfit with a parachute payment should have had us out of sight in the first half.

  33. Certainly not today, not a stand off for me, at least look before you Chuck a pass out to sidelines. We also got exposed at centre with broadbent, I like him but he’s not a centre. We need some size in the centres to match other teams. Overall, we got beat by a bigger side today. Would also like to see our half’s taking teams on like Donny’s did today. At least make teams think about what we’re doing other than a one pass play each time, over and over.

  34. We were terrible today. Absolutely terrible. No go forward, no aggressive defence, slow, lethargic, should I carry on. ??? FFS what is wrong here. To cap it all mad head Johnston gives a cheap shot to their number 6, who completely outplayed him I even single way, and got sent off and probably banned. Brilliant!!! I think the Coaching team needs to have a serious word with themselves. It's all well and good playing pretty expansive rugby but we actually make no yards doing it. Rant over and super p...s.d off. On saying all the above Doncaster were really really good and should have won by more

  38. We were well beat by 2 of the best teams in the league. Prior to that we comfortably beat York and lost by 6 to Sheffield. Halifax WISH they got that result. For a promoted team I'd say we're not doing bad.

  48. I did it. My first ever full Super Saturday. it took training and commitment but I made it. I'll not lie, it got tough towards the end as we slogged through the rain in Brisbane, and I had to dig deep. All credit to the boys.

  49. Lighten up a little, London are in Super league, they will likely go down but they will better for it in the future. Also the amount of London juniors in the first team is amazing, shows great promise for the future of southern english rugby league.
