would not surprise me if this is wire's first defeat. which i would welcome, in a weird way, takes a little pressure off.

Another pessimistic wire fan, come on believe, we have mcguire at LF for his first game. Williams is the form player and former cats players Kasiano, Drinkwater and Dudson will be busting a gut to win, can't see anything other than a wire win.

See that Catalans have taken on board two lads from their reserve side. Full time professionnels taking them up to 2025. Ugo Tison is a half back/hooker and Tanguy Zenon full back

Kasiano and mcguire back in the squad, probably only clarke missing from starting 13 and Harrison from first choice 17.

Strong pack, strong bench, wire to be convincing winners(unlike a lot of wire fans on here I am optimistic).

I can understand your optimism.  As a fan of Les Dracs, I obviously want a home win, but cannot see it on this occasion.  For one thing, I think we will either be light in the halves or have to move Mourgue there, thus not allowing him the arguably extra space to roam that a full-back can have.

To be honest, I have been pleasantly surprised that Catalans have done as well as they have so far.  I expected this to be something of a rebuilding season, with a finishing position round about seventh most likely.  That could still be the case of course.  it has been good to see the French lads getting more game-time and, on the whole, they have taken their chances pretty well.

If Les Dracs cannot win the LLS and grand final, I would be delighted to see the Wire win either or both.  I think that a change from the usual suspects would be good for the game, but I also like the way they stuck with Powell last season rather than do the 'fashionable' thing (certainly in top-flight soccer) and press the panic button marked 'sack the coach'.

Albeit Mikaele has departed who I believe has been every bit as good as Vaughan and they complimented each other very well, I will still take a Wire victory, to well organised and to fast for Catalan.

Mikaele was very good but not in the same stratosphere as Vaughan, who for me is of the 'Morley' class as a Warrington forward. Key to our season, I think, is ensuring we can give him a rest or two throughout the season so we have plenty in the tank at the end of the year, when - we are forever told - trophies are handed out.

Weirdly I get Barry B's point about the first defeat taking some pressure off. But by the same token it would take some pressure off the next two games (Wigan and Saints) if we won tomorrow, and I think we have a chance.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I've predicted 24-12 win for Wire. Me and my son are 1st year membership holders and we are loving it. Last season we attended a couple of games and I said then that Powell would turn things around,he's a quality coach.Warrington have been superb up to now and I'm convinced they will continue to be. Last season must've been frustrating for you all. Go Warry!

Looking forward to the match with the wife and boys today:)

Cannot see the Dragons winning this however one never knows their performance recently at Wigan Warriors was outstanding the second half at Leeds Rhinos appalling.

Either a thrashing today for the Dragons by 30 points or narrow home win.

Driving back to Blighty next week and will go to Wolves v Warriors next Friday which should be a cracker:)

The two young players who signed full professional this week are on the team sheet for tonight. Zenon will start at full back I understand with Mourgue and Keighran in the halves.12 French plays in total

My heart say Les Dracs but head says Wire.

I genuinely think this could be Warrington’s year

Great early pressure from Les Cats sees a Wire drop out.
