Archie Gordon Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Perfect opportunity to move to an 11-team SL and plough £1m pa into improving the lasses. 1 1 1

Trojan Horse Posted March 4 Posted March 4 So now Castleford could get a leg up and wipe out the points against from a poor start? How is that right or fair for those teams around them or the integrity of a comp that issues points for performance that could be difference between a grade or even demotion. What a saga. Feel for the players and staff not getting paid and the Salford fans for how this club appears to be run. But punishment should be due for collection soon. 5
hunsletgreenandgold Posted March 4 Posted March 4 This is affecting the integrity of the whole league at this stage. Still, those positive stories the media had about Vegas were lingering around a little too long for my liking - parity is restored.

I agree, it'll get to the point where teams will be hoping that the week they play Salford they are under the measures so they can pick up a much needed win or improve thier points difference while other weeks it will (or should) be a much harder task, it's a farce and having some teams play agains their Academy team while others play their 1st team is an absolute joke. 1 HGSA.org.uk proudly partnering with https://www.sportsandbetting.net/ the ultimate destination for people who enjoy sports betting.

One game I can sort of accept but gifting Saints a massive points advantage and possible the same with Castleford could have a lot of ramifications for the playoffs, as we saw last year Points difference matters. 4
Wakey Til I Die Posted March 4 Posted March 4 It’s gone beyond farce now, the integrity of the competition is getting shot to bits. The need kicking out, the results expunging and all players made free agents with cap and quota dispensations worked out. Salfords remaining central funding can help cover any new contract shortfall. Let’s be honest the red flags are waving high anyway. A Swiss banker that doesn’t seem to know how the banking system works? This whole thing is a stitch up. 4

Thunder Road Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Having read the last 5 or so pages it is clear as a drunkards urine that there are no real positives in this complete mess. The RFL really should come out and explain to the rugby community their rationale up to today. Getting a walkover result upsets the whole equilibrium of the points for and against format.. Paul Rowley should have shown clear leadership last week when he was at Leigh on Sky sports. It was the perfect time to tell me to tell us what's happening. I feel hollow in saying that consideration should now be given to removing this club from the competition. Not sure who can, would, or be able to fill this blue John mine cavern.. I personally feel let down by the whole incident which has gone back several months.. In not sure if I'm the only one who thinks this but this is my personal view.. A club so rich in history is being dragged through the mud.. I remember the 70s when as a Leigh fan my dad and I would love the Leigh Salford game... If he were he today he'd be thoroughly disappointed that grown men cannot manage a situation. Anyway rant over.. Apologies... 2

Kick them out of SL before they play another game and give everyone a bye and scratch the last three results. The longer this farce rumbles on the more problematic for the competition Yeah you can definitely deduct points regardless of how many they have currently. If they can't get any points that is on them. 1

You are correct, but doing that dosnt solve anything. If Salford were worried about points they would not have sent the kids to Saints
LeytherRob Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 Looks like it’s gonna be the kids from round 1 again, assuming they have enough fit bodies to name. Could actually see a forfeited fixture this week. 1
Colin James Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Suspend them from the competition until they are sorted. Can't expect spectators and broadcasters to be paying for joke games
haskey Posted March 4 Posted March 4 As a Fev fan There could be a possibility if Salford are sent into administration, and removed from SL that the winner of the championship be promoted (watch out Bradford) 1

Henson Park Old Firm Posted March 4 Posted March 4 What next next... Salford declares they want to play in Vegas?
RP London Posted March 4 Posted March 4 2 hours ago, dboy said: Don't forget, we were told that they had already repaid the RFL, Salford Council and wiped all existing debts. Clearly this is simply untrue. Have they now said those debts haven't been paid? Haven't seen it but been busy last couple of days. They could clear those and still have no cash to pay players because they don't liquid assets (which should have been checking in due diligence)... Money laundering sounds good but the checks really are not that long so for me that's rubbish. The whole thing is a mess but was predictable.. just look at all the posts on here of people saying why we shouldn't rush it through and why due diligence was important.. but what do we all know??

How can the RFL allow this to happen, surely, as has been mentioned before, the club are in breach of contract and as such should be allowed to move to another club, as distasteful as that might be for the stalwart fans.It is a disgrace and brings the game into disrepute.

"Not only will players need to receive their wages but the Reds will also need to pay back the central funding advancement they received, clear other historical financial issues and provide funding that will secure the club's financial future for multiple months. Tommygilf Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Charges still registered against the company on CH. None of those debts repaid so far.
