Hull have got a fans forum tonight and it's expected that they will announce the investment from Thirkhill and also that a new signing is going to be announced. Bateman seems to be the name doing the rounds but it doesn't seem to be based on anything.

Off topic slightly but there seems to be an air of professionalism about the club for a change. Listening to Cartwright talk and seeing the social media stuff the club are putting out it looks really positive. Jordan Abdull looks to have slimmed down and apparently Balmforth has lost 9kg too. I've seen a few comments from people who know players saying that the way John Cartwright does things is night and day compared to the last few seasons.

Morgan Smith, Jack Walker and Liam Tindall have all been released by Hull. Smith tried hard but just isn't a Super League quality player imo. Would do well at a Batley or similar. Walker will do a job for someone too but he's just not quite at that top level. Reliable, enthusiastic, but lacking quality. Rapana will get the 1 shirt with a view to Moy taking it in a couple of years time.

Tindall probably never got a fair chance, but from what I've seen he's well behind Lewis Martin and Harvey Barron anyway. A waste of a signing.

Probably frees up £150k plus of cap space.

What does released mean? Contract not renewed ie OOC or paid off?

Not sure tbh. Hull have just put out a statement saying they've all departed the club with immediate effect. I think they were all contracted for next year so either they have been paid off or they have found other clubs.

The good news for Walker is that he has youth on his side.

I've always liked Smith, but agree he is more 'top half of Championship' than Super League.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Halifax have signed Ronan Dixon and Brad Graham from Dewsbury, Jack Hansen from Sheffield, Owen McCarron from Whitehaven, and Charlie Graham from Keighley (was already at Fax on loan).

And they've re-signed McComb, Jouffret, Saltonstall, Fairbank, and Hird.

Spoke to a Warrington fan earlier today and he said rumours of Paul Vaughan to leigh doing the rounds in Cheshire, can’t see it personally.

Not keen on that one. Would need to give him 2 or 3 years and I don’t think he reached his 2023 levels this year

Vaughan's been given the number 10 shirt, it would be odd for him to leave for another SL club. The media talk is of him returning to the NRL though.

I'd be very happy to keep him. I think he goes about his business nicely rather than being a big play player.

This is some pretty good content on JWH's first day the office... seems like a good lad

He’s a fantastic player, real throwback. If I were a KR fan my only concern would be keeping him on the field. SL is far more snow flake than the NRL and had had a fairly torrid history over there. Our refs will send a player off for tackling with the intent of making the other player fall over. Best of luck with that one.
