Lee Briers, saw Warrington on the Beeb and was hooked by him.

He is the main reason I’m a wire fan - they’re easy to get to, too - and I owe him for so much. I started playing at school not long after and started studying him, without him, at that time I may not be the rugby league fan I am today.

Tulsen Tollett is my earliest memory of a specific player that was my "favourite" as well as Steele Retchless.  After that then players like Mark McLinden were definitely favourites before London Junior players started coming through.

I was on the borderline between league and union until I saw Billy Slater score that hat trick against England in 2008.

Changed my life, as silly as that sounds. Haven't followed union, outside of watching the odd six nations game, since.

Also Steve Nash. Among all the greats who have played for Featherstone he was the shining diamond.

"Out of the way, son. Where's my medal?" Alex Murphy's immortal words as David Hobbs scores his 2nd try in the '83 Cup Final!

"The history of the world is the history of the triumph of the heartless over the mindless." — Sir Humphrey Appleby.

"If someone doesn't value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide to prove that they should value it? If someone doesn't value logic, what logical argument could you provide to show the importance of logic?" — Sam Harris
